Tried something a little different on this NES

I sanded it with 2000 grit and buffed it till my arm fell off. Reminds me of restoring a car. What a nice feeling!                    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=160243108630&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=006

For real. I dont know how games end up like that.
  • Wow, that's shiny! While it still retains it's NES looks, it looks super clean and new.
  • I think I like that custom job the best.
  • That is simply amazing... WOW... Looks better than the brand new one did back in '87 when I got my first one..

Wish I had the money to bid on that one.. great job...
  • I think alot of people figure the bidding is going to get so high they could never afford it. I would keep an eye on it. Sometimes they go for really cheap as Joe West and Arseface already know.
  • that's cool!

I was at Woodcraft this weekend buying some stuff for my renovation, and the Festool demo guy showed me a piece of walnut he had sanded with 3000 grit...it looked waxed! Same effect, I love it.
  • I think that this one looks amazing, but for all the extra work, I wonder if it'll bring the extra cash...

I'll throw down a bid on it as well.
  • Very nice!  This is definitly my favorite so far!
  • My favorite too. Looks awesome! Did it take longer than your normal painting?

Less time but more buffing which is hard on my arm. I can only use my power buffer on the very top because its too big and in the end, my right arm is bigger than my left LOL!
  • item number?

You must have never gotten my PM. I replied to you. I'll send another.
  • Damn, I wish I had remembered to check my Ebay last night... I would definitely bid on that...

  • Yeah that didn't end at a good price considering the work you put into it... (the systems look awesome by the way) Maybe you should quit doing the autions and just sell at a fixed price.... Sell them for what you think they are worth.
  • I tried that but half the time they wouldnt sell and Ebay charges too much. Would an Ebay store be a good idea?
  • a store would probably be a good idea. I'm not sure what Ebays store fees are, but you could have your systems posted longer... There will always be  "SOMEONE' out there willing to pay what your asking. You just have to wait for that person to find you.

  • The trouble with eBay stores is that the less you pay the more invisible you are. If he's not also running auctions that cross-promote his store items no one will see them. And premium store hosting is damn expensive.
  • Wait what exactly is "buffing"? I'm pretty good at english but don't know that word.
