The War of the A+ Certified Nintendo Techs!

First, has anyone ever heard of a A+ Certified Tech? One of the sellers shows some kind of certificate. Is this BS?

Well, without further adieu, I present seller #1, "mr.nes101"

Some vendors claim there certified,YEA RIGHT ask them to prove it!! I am certified, and I'm proud to show off my certificate in my pics.
I have been certified since 2000 and have rebuilt thousands of systems.
Dont be fooled by other vendors claims of 1 year guarnatee, you can
only file a complaint with ebay within 60 days of auction end. Save
some money, don't buy a guarnatee.
Buy from a trusted vendor who is qualified to work on all nintendo's.

And now, seller #2, "acolade5150"

ALL MY CONSOLES ARE REBUILT BY A+ CERTIFIED TECH WITH OVER 3000+ NES NINTENDO REBUILD.

BEFORE
YOU BUY A NES NINTENDO FROM ANYONE ELSE, OVER 90% OF ALL NINTENDO SOLD
ON EBAY MIGHT NOT WORK! I BUY ALMOST ALL OF MY INVENTORY ON EBAY AND
9 OUT OF 10 JUST DON'T WORK!!!

LATELY
THERES BEEN ALOT OF SELLERS OFFERING NES NINTENDO WITH A WARRANTY AND
PLAY ON FIRST TRY CLAIMS. DON'T BE FOOLED!! CHECK THEIR TRACK
RECORD. DON'T BE FOOLED BY PROMISES THEY CAN'T KEEP!!!

  • Why is grammar a concept some people just can't grasp?
  • Just more of the same.
  • I like to go with my gut on a lot of these things and I'm calling BS. Those certificates in the pictures anyone with ANY experience using Microsoft word could make.
  • A+ Certification is a computer technician thing, pretty much just a multiple choice test about general computer stuff. It has a ridiculously low standard for passing, somewhere around 60-70% correct and you get the certificate. Not NES related, completely useless for fixing NES systems.
  • acolade5150 looks like he uses a brillo-pad to clean those games. Not only is there damage to the contacts, but they aren't even entirely clean.
  • That acolade guy is a complete fruitcake. Bought some games from me and claimed they never arrived and also got his money back from a claim so i was out about $80 bucks. He is asian so that explains the bad grammer.

    Here is another "tech"

    http://myworld.ebay.com/ixtlann/

  • ixtlann used to spam the hell out of his listing with how clean his stuff was. The pictures showed he was as clueless as these other two. He used to be very active, but it looks like he's thrown in the towel.
  • oh no...90% failure rate! what a load
  • I laugh at alot of these! If he's so proud, why arent there any closeups of the certificate. Anyone could make that. I have my CPR certificate and it only took 3 days and all I got was a little card. I think its BS and there just trying to get that little edge above all these other resellers.
  • I have my A+... along with my MCP, MCSE and CNA...

Just a bunch of nice letters on my business card...
  • A+ certification is a very easy thing to get.  They may even actually have an A+ cert.  Doesn't mean much with the NES.
  • The A+ cert is so easy to get it's basically worthless.. I have it and my Network+ and only the Network+ has helped in the job market... I think I could teach my 18 month old enough to pass the A+ test with enough practice and online "practice" exams..

These sellers are crazy... Some people will try anything to make a little money...
  • what everyone fails to realize is that he stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night, so everything is ok.
  • For the A+ cert, it's 75%+ for a pass, but quite frankly, it's the most useless computer related cert there probably is.

I know people who can't turn on a computer without being shown where the power button is who have their A+.
  • I have an old certificate from an Authorized Repair Center...I think that makes me more certified then them; although I have to pretend my name is Gary Wenzell
  • Me: May I ask what A+ certification has to do with Nintendo in any way?

acolade5150: it's just a peace of mind from the consumer. what this A+ certification means is that i am a trained nintendo tech. you should get one.....you can make alot more money.

Me: I have my A+ and it has nothing to do with Nintendo thanks.

It's called a sales gimmick or in this situation, a straight out lie to customers.

It's like saying hey, I fixed my lawnmowers so I must be good with all engines, let me see your car.

    acolade5150: i
see you have alot of time on your hand on this holiday. don't be a
hater, call it what you will. it has worked for me for over 3500 system
    sales.......don't be a hater.
    happy holidays.

At least going by Gary Wenzell would only be one lie and I'd probably trust you a hell of a lot more anyways.
  • What a dickwad...don't be a hater, indeed
