  • think that's a gamereproductions one, but I'm not sure. I don't see the NA logo or anything.

From the pic, I can't even tell, it may even say Chronicles of Radia War, which GR's was selling before Towers even came out.
  • Well one's thing for certain: the seller wants a liter of cola...
  • That is not the label Langenfeld used, but it still could be a dump of one of the carts he sold then made with an already available label. No way to tell if its the fan translation or the "official" translation without checking some of the in game text.
  • No that is the label I used, with some minor changes. Thats the font on the text that Nick came up with.
  • Shitty. I hope someone here bought it and doesn't pay...

here is a pic of the label used at nes repro. soooooo, someone stole langenfelds and took out the NA and the langenfeld, replaced it with tecmo, and made their own... hmmmmm, not cool! the title of nes repro's version was chronicles of the radia war.
  • he didn't steal that one, it's the same one he was using before lang sold his. don't know about the font, but they had the same picture before Lang's release.
  • I'm not sure who wantaliterofcola is but they've been selling repros for a LONG time. They always gave me really shady answers when I asked about some games in the distant past, and obviously their spartan descriptions leave much to the imagination as well. Anyone ever purchased from them and still have the name/address?
  • you KNEW it would happen.
  • His name is Joseph Thomas
  • I knew it would happen, doesn't bother me at all. I caught a lot of grief for selling unnumbered ones, but this is why I deided to do it. They were going to exist no matter what. That is why I purchased the proto in the first place, to make sure that everyone could get a copy. I was afraid that someone else would have bought it and just sat on it. No hard feelings, just another NES game for everyone to enjoy.
  • langenfeld, is your release the same as the nes repro release? i know the title is different, but is the game the same?
  • Well, I guess the game play is the same, but the one that was previoulsy offered was a fan translation of the Japanese release. Mine was actually the would be US release.

If you search the NA directory for Joe Thomas you will find out who the person selling this is because there is someone registered with that name who just happened to purchase a Tower of Radia repro.
  • I saw who it was. Have to admit, bothers me a little that it was done directly by a member here. No worries though.
  • Ah, it's coinheaven. He's been a member over at NESWorld for about 2+ years. I remember a while back he expressed interest in the copynes. I guess with the eventual end of making a few bucks doing this.

Problem is, Joe, lies of omission are still lies.

I guess even established members and collectors aren't beneath using their membership to rip roms and make a few bucks with purposefully ambiguous eBay listings.
  • On a side note, he apparently is selling a copy of Labyrinth. I have never heard of that at all. Anyone know if it is worth buying or playing if you love the movie? Does it have any of the music from the movie in it?
  • I honestly think none of this matters, whether he copied it or langenfeld had it copied. It's all copyright issues, this post should not even exist to be honest. It's not like langenfeld had the rights to the game or anything.

thanks for the info! i might actually pick up the fan translation to see how it differs. that might be kind of cool to see how good / bad the translation was

That's a Famicom release. I've never played it.

It's a Famicom game based on the movie. It's an action/puzzle game, you run around in a maze, dodge stuff and find your way to the exit of each area with the key. I haven't played it all the way through so I might be missing some details.
