Found this in a pile of NES games today.  Never saw it before, figured I'd snag it.

Can someone tell me what it is? I'm a complete Famicom noob, so this could be dirt common for all I know!

It's a pirate, looks to be of the Japanese SMB 2. That back label would link it to the NTDEC family of companies...

I have that... its the SMBj (The "Lost levels" one). Very difficult game. I'd suggest playing it, and then see how far you get

Definitely a pirate, it has the same ID number (HVC-SM) as the original Super Mario Bros. cart.

Nice label. They usually don't look authentic. SMB2j was never released on cart, just disk, for the Famicom. So, it's a great find. It ain't too rare though...they pop up somewhat regularly on eBay.

Yeah, it seems yours is a pirate as SMB2 was released on the Famicom Disk System (?) I believe.
