Sold(or traded) it? Remove it please!

Now that I use a laptop that's got a narrower height being widescreen and I also have an iPad I'm finding it to be a bit more of a problem dealing with some of the sales threads where people feel the odd compulsion to leave up pictures for games/items they've sold plus leaving it up as "sold" in the description.

Would it be possible to start encouraging people to remove stuff like that so it would be easier to navigate buy/trade threads?

  • Agreed except the picture with my nephew
  • you get post 1000 and 1001

  • i have views from both sides of this. from your side: i agree, it can get clustered and annoying. from the other side: i do like to see what certain items actually sold for (this is different than ebay, so it is nice to see private/forum sales prices).

Agreed, I see both sides as well. It's sometimes also nice to see what sort of goods someone has sold and pay attention to their future threads. I have noticed certain sellers always have good stuff or prices. I have found some great deals noting what someone had already sold and then keeping an eye on the thread or future threads they may post. Hope that makes sense.

Turning that around I sometimes get bummed out seeing a game I really want then finding it was already sold.
  • We leave ALL threads available for viewing for future reference. At worst, we will lock a BS&T thread under the OP's request. If we deleted everything, the search engine would be lonely and never get used...oh wait
  • I wasn't talking about moderators killing old threads. I just was talking about trying to get people to show some personal responsibility for their own threads and trimming the dead weight. They're 'for sale' not 'was sold' threads people shop in.
  • I don't know if this was geared towards me because of my FS thread with tons of pics. I just came across THIS thread (I hardly check out site suggestions & Feedback) and it sounds like what I had/have going on.

But that being said, after I sell an item I leave the pics up for a day or so (in case the new owner wants to save them). I then remove the pics of sold items. As far as an item being sold.....I leave that up, but I move all the sold items together. I leave up the prices so people can see what the items sold for and just strike them through. Hopefully this is tidy enough, but I won't change the way I do things unless a mod asks me to.
