"Preview" not working

I've noticed this for a while, but assumed it was temporary and would be fixed. It's been months now and the problem persists. I don't know if it is limited to Safari or my settings, as I have never tested it with other browsers.

When typing a new post, reply, private message, etc, the "Preview" button doesn't work properly. For example, if I press it while typing this post, a new "NA" window appears with nothing inside but the "Close" button. I just tested it while writing a PM, and some sort of default instructions on how to write a PM appeared (talked about Chubby Cherub and such).

Preview worked a year or so ago. Am I the only one who has this problem?

  • I also have the same problem
  • Same problem, but I use Chrome.
  • I also have this problem using Chrome.
  • Have you guys tried clearing the browser cache?

Does it work in another browser on your computer?
  • same problem using IE7 or IE8. never worked since i joined last year.
  • The preview is now in the editor (hourglass icon I think). I think I just forgot to remove those buttons.

  • preview icon is the icon in top row 4th from the left.

It looks like a piece of paper with a magnifying glass on top of it.

    Never even noticed that.  Thanks.

  • I never noticed it, either. There are so many buttons on the new editor.

So, there is no way to preview when doing a "quick" reply at the bottom?

A button switching from the quick reply to the full editor would be nice. Sometimes, I am typing a reply down there, and decide I need to do more. Currently, I have to copy and paste everything into the new window.
  • Edit: just tested it, and the preview button does work in quick replies, but the "preview" button doesn't work when editing or regular replies. It either needs to be removed or relinked to the same function as magnifing glass icon which does work.
