My first true Finders Keepers
About a week ago, I sealed a deal for this Chubby Cherub box.

I bought it sight unseen for $40. It was a former rental, and lid was taped shut. Before it came to me, the tape was somehow removed without damaging the box. I was able to get most of the residue off except for near a small tear at the very top. I didn't dare touch it with GooGone. Considering all of this, it is in improbable condition, and now my collection's centerpiece.
I've gotten items for cheaper, but dollars to doughnuts, this is my favorite deal ever. It also included the Bandai Game Plan! Bask in its glory, dammit!

When I get ballsy, I might try that butane trick...does it leave a smell?

Yeah, where did you get this?! Purchased online for $40? What a cool sight-unseen adventure.
It was a white-knuckle adventure. I will tell the story, but I need to allow some time to pass. I suspect some other NAers may have their own stories to tell...
Right as I wrapped up my work day, I checked eBay on my phone. The first newly listed item was a bunch of NES boxes. The picture had dozens of boxes. The guy was selling them all for $10 apiece. Didn't matter what it was. In the listing, there was ridiculous stuff and normal stuff together, but only like 20 boxes were mentioned . He didn't have it where you could select which item you wanted. I freaked out and bought three boxes without even knowing if any of the ones I wanted were still available.
I had just gotten a smart phone and had no idea how to message anyone using eBay mobile. So I was scrambling trying to find a computer to message the guy on. I hijacked one and told him I'd take Clu Clu Land, and two other boxes. I received a message from him confirming my order and telling me that I was first in by about 20 seconds. In the meantime, I just assumed I would get backdoored. There was also the matter of all the boxes that were in the PICTURE, too. I decided I wasn't going to get greedy, and didn't bother. If I could get a Clu Clu Land box for $10, I would be happy.
A few hours later, the seller messaged me and told me that another buyer offered $200 for CCL and another box. The seller didn't cancel our deal - he asked if I wanted that person's contact info. I wanted that info so I could report that person as a dirty back-doorer, but I didn't want any trouble - I just wanted my CCL box. I politely declined.
That night, I asked him if he had any other boxes - I figured most of those pictured were gone. He said that he was getting a spreadsheet together and later linked me to it. The amount of stuff was crazy. Sure enough, some of the boxes were already taken, with eBay usernames next to them. But they were only boxes that were visible in the pictures. Dozens of boxes were still up for grabs. I've been trying to narrow my collection as much as possible, so I didn't go crazy. But I decided to order Cherub for $40, another high-profile box, and a few bargain boxes. You wouldn't believe what I let go.
I forget the circumstances, but there was a gap of time between reserving the Cherub and actually buying it. At this time, all the other boxes began to sell. I also found out how much a good Cherub goes for, after getting a picture that showed this thing was all-world. I became extremely paranoid that I would never see this box, once the other buyers saw $40 next to the Cherub listing. But the seller was extremely honest. Also, I have the feeling that the other buyers were on pins and needles like me, because they were getting their own awesome deals. I totally believe at least one of those buyers is an NAer. I hope they read this and confirm how batshit insane this was.
Anyway, it showed up and I cleaned some tape residue off of it. This story probably doesn't read nearly as exciting as it felt. But that's the story.
tl;dr - Right place, right time.

So you did get Clu Clu Land right? Nice pick ups.
Haha... my first thought was "Wait... a $10 clu clu land box and you're talking about a Chubby Cherub?" Both are awesome deals, no doubt.
Very cool to find that the seller was an honest person. That's pretty rare these days.

Mike Tyson is, I have a gentleman that is looking for your Clu-Clu box and offered us $200 for it along with another game. If you would like I can give you his contact information
I am currently using a spreadsheet to track the inventory which can be found here: https://docs.google.com/
There are a lot of unlisted boxes there that I will have up tomorrow if you want to lay claim to any.

If you are looking for anything in particular we would prefer to sell to collectors over resellers. Our contact info is in that link. We also have only listed 1/3 of the boxes we have and will be listing more in the following weeks.
