Flagging WTB/WTS/WTT Threads

I fear this will be quickly rejected since this is an American dominated community. However, I was wondering about having the option to flag threads in the Buying and Selling boards with options such as:

  • PAL

  • NTSC

  • Famicom

  • Accessories

  • Misc.
And so on. It's rather difficult for someone from a PAL region looking through the for sale board for example. I need to go through 100s of threads (Literally. No joke.) before I reach one selling PAL games.

Thank you.

  • Try an advanced search in the sellers forum with the exact phrase PAL. Might not be perfect, but should definitely save you some time.
  • Can we make a rule if there is shipping restrictions in place the title will say it like U.S only?

III.A.1.d states they should post if they ship internationally.

No need to clutter up the title
  • I know that, it would be nice to just skip all the threads that don't ship outside their own country. I don't think a few extra letters added to the title or subject line would clutter it up.

I'm on slow internet so having to go in and out of threads constantly because of shipping restrictions wastes a lot of time.
  • I don't think it's a bad idea. Simply PAL, NTSC, wouldn't hurt too much.

Well then, we should say that those who ONLY accept Paypal should put it in the title too, so I don't have to bounce in and out because I don't use Paypal.

    See where this is going?

  • Why not just break it into 2 sell threads one U.S. Only one International

Now we are getting into exaggerations. . I have yet hit a thread where they do not take PayPal (I haven't been in your personal one).  I have seen tons of threads that only ship to their own country.

Shipping restrictions are way more common than not taking PayPal.

You seem to be taking my suggestion personally and really coming down hard on it.  I am not sure why?

We are talking about an extra  6 letters added to the seller's choice of thread title or subject line.  Why are you so opposed to it?  I have explained my reasoning but you have yet to explain the real reason why you are so opposed.  I have feeling it's something more than just an extra 6 letters added to only some threads and not even all of them.

  • Don't get me wrong...I am not taking your suggestion personally and not coming down on you. You have to realize the more rules we make, the harder it is for people to follow them.

Suggestions are great, and we welcome them...but if every suggestion is put into the FAQ then nobody would ever read the FAQ or follow it.

We like to keep it simple here.

Go ahead and start putting the initials in your FS/WTB thread (and spread the word)...if it catches on and people like it, they will start using it too.

    Hey man it's cool.

I thought you were upset for some reason.  I don't think that was your intention and I misinterpered it.

    But it's all good.

    Rock on!

Don't really like this idea, because it segregates games into categories that are not necessarily black and white.  Where do we place Game Boy games?  Should European Game Boy games be listed under "PAL" and Canadian ones NTSC despite the fact that Game Boy games are not PAL or NTSC?  What do we do with NTSC then?  People here always equate NTSC with North America, but Japan uses a version of the NTSC format as well.  If we would do this, would the two NTSC formats be split up or kept together?  If split up, I feel that they should be treated as equals.  I.E. if users have to list Japanese games as NTSC-J then users should also have to list North American games as NTSC-NA or whatever the format is called for that region.
