All I said is I think the system and it's games suck, nothing else. I have plenty of shitty games on the NES/SNES too, in fact most of the most expensive and rare games are shitty games and I do indeed collect them. I still think finishing the set of N64 games CIB is impressive, even if the games are not. How is that "trolling"?
Scullptor's cut is a terrible, irredeemably bad game. But getting it CIB is indeed impressive.

You're trolling because you spent the time and effort to come into a Nintendo 64 thread to express your feelings; Knowing that a mass majority of N64 collectors on this site would be looking at this thread. That's textbook trolling.

I congratulated him on completing a set CIB, therefore I'm trolling. Got it.
Seriously anyone posting about hating the n64 or not understanding people who complete sets probably should go someplace else, lots of open threads are waiting for you.
Lol, thank you. So sick of hearing the same bullshit about the N64 on these threads.

I'm just amazed at how protective and defensive everyone here is. Really says a lot about the collecting...

Still, that's quite an achievement, 296 is still a pretty large number, all things considered. I consider my 80-ish N64 cart collection to be pretty big. Although, I think in terms of games, not necessarily the physical carts.
Notice how I didn't insult Krunch or anything, all I said was "I don't understand". If you guys think not understanding is insulting... Then political correctness has really found it's way into every aspect of life. Also, my comment on "80% of everything won't get played", search your feelings, you all know it be true. I suppose some of us are more players than collectors, but I like to hope everyone here still plays games.
I even complement him on the achievement, because even if I don't understand the pleasure of owning every N64 game, complete in box, I realize it's a lot of games.

The point is that no one cares if you understand or not and this isn't the thread to discuss it. It is a backhanded compliment anyway that you look at it. If you want to discuss why people collect games they won't play, feel free to start your own thread.
It's all good, Guntz - we're cool. I admit that I won't play all the games, sure I could try all of them for a few minutes but we all know that's not the same.
cheaterdragon1: I approve of your green side outness! But who is going to step up to the plate and display red side out? Haven't heard that one yet.
I'm already sort of collecting gray variants, only notable ones are Rage Wars and Hydro Thunder though (I don't have and never had a blue Hydro Thunder!!!!), and then a few of my CIBs have common grays in them which will be replaced by colored (Tom Clancys, Scooby Doo, possibly one more that I can't recall).
I don't want to collect NFRs. It's too time-consuming, expensive, and most importantly doesn't fit in with my buying behavior. I also don't really find them that interesting save for the expensive ones with huge differences, although I enjoyed watching aleckermit's video that he posted recently. I think being "on the sidelines" is good enough for me.
What I really want to collect is merchandise and this includes anything N64 as well as Pokemon stuff. However, I still have my innocence with this side of collecting and I'm not yet willing to shell out big bucks for anything.
And of course, I am still actively collecting for NES/SNES as well.

I for one was there. The triple peaks of N64, Pokemon, and WWF. An era to end all eras for people like myself.
Such things as Mewtwo or Missingno were equally as fascinating as seeing The Rock or Stone Cold appear on TV each week.
I'll never understand complete sets. 80% of everything on those shelves is unlikely to ever see the slot of an N64.
Congrats Krunch, all your hard work looks good on those shelves!
I have to agree with the above quote though...I'll never understand 100% CIB collectors. At the end of the day, the game is on the cart, not the box or manual. Boxes are only for looks and manuals provide no information you can't find somewhere online for free. I'd rather have 150 carts that I know I'll play than 296, half of which I'd play.
I still have a lot of respect for all the money and dedication that goes into having a 100% CIB collection though.
Whoa back from the dead. ^^^Yeah it's tough to understand. Like I mentioned earlier in the thread I like boxes because they are actually mini-advertisements for the game in a way and it's interesting that somebody's job within the company releasing it was to write that stuff even though it barely got read. So having the box for me is like having an unwritten text of sorts. Of course I also like the way they display, and I find that collecting condition-sensitive stuff is more fun.
Overall I will say that I don't much care for collecting manuals compared to carts/boxes, but it's all part of the CIB game for me. I actually prefer collecting paperwork etc. tbh.
Is it really almost a year old... I remember posting my jealousness in it when it was first posted. Since then I have taken a long haitus from the N64... I cant believe I've been on an N64 CIB break this long.

Oh and I always did green side out as well, though that was a pain in the ass for Rayman 2 and Rocket Robot on Wheels.
The question is, now what? You going for NFRs, Gray Variants, something else?

I actually watched a CIB go for $45.00 the other day; I just wasn't prepared to buy.
