  • Considering that Conker's and Super Smash Bros eat up the majority of what you paid for the lot I'd say you did damn good.

  • That's what I thought as soon as I saw the lot, and those two are doubles, actually a lot of those are. I'll probably put em towards sculptors cut as its my next "to get" item at the moment.
  • It's been a long time since I've updated this thread (sadly).  I still actively search for games, but last yr in July I moved from upstate New York to Deleware. Upstate NY was a gold mine for me; I lived in a small town w many pawn shops and felt I was one of the only local collectors.  I even passed the best one five days a week to and from work; most games sold for $3.50.  Since moving to DE I've had nowhere near the same luck/success & unfortunately resorted to eBay.  In roughly seven months I've only found about six games in the wild.  I was excited to move near a Goodwill, that was wrong.  Seven months of searching the Goodwill at least once a week has not generated even ONE NES, SNES, 64, or Game Cube game.  I haven't even seen one there!  --Okay, rant over, to the KIOSK!

Since I can't find anything in the wild out here I took to dumpster dving at Game Stop. The ultimate dream was to get my hands on a Kiosk. With the additon of PS4 & XBONE I noticed the 360 kiosk just sat ideal, not even powered on. It became my mission to get it, I ramped my visits to three nights a week.  I found alot of cool stuff, but that's a different topic.  After months of wasted time and gas I kinda gave up around mid March.

Well, roughly two weeks ago I went to GS to pick up DK Tropical Freeze and drove around back to get a visual of the dumpster.  Mind you it's broad daylight, normally I always go at night so I'm not hasseld.  Well, that damn Kiosk was there!!  Unfortunately I was in my Elantra (a small car) & my Sante Fe (SUV) was sitting in my driveway at home, argh!  I FLEW HOME, I was driving like a mad-man, all the while praying the Kiosk would stay put and that I wouldn't pulled over.  At the time I could care less about the ticket -- it would've been a huge waste of time!  I got home, slammed my Elantra in park and took off in the Sante Fe.  When I finally made it back (about 15 minutes later but it felt like an eternity) I was so pumped to see it still sitting there.

I noticed two employees right out back smoking, normally I work at night so it caused a little anxiety.  I just thought to myself "F it, this is it!  If they approach me I'll argue my case!".  I backed my Sante Fe right up to that bad boy and shoved it in. I scooped up some cords that were laying around and split, employees just smoking and watching!  At this point my adrenaline was freaking maxed, lol!

To top things off when I got home I discoverd it had everything except the plastic dome.  I've since ordered & received one (as you can see) through eBay for$60.00.  A little pricey imo, but I'm not sure how often they will show up.  I have the art work, I just took it off to clean the Kiosk up a bit.  I also have the controller peices but I'm leaving them off 'till it's all up and running.

Since I'm a die-hard Nintendo fan I don't own an XBox 360, something tells me that's about to change!   My plan is to mod the XBox (just bc otherwise changing games will be a big hassle) and just grabbing some "Arcadish" type games.  Here is my rough game list (I don't know XBox games well).

Burnout // NBA Jam // Some type of "Arcadish" space shooter(s) (any recommendations) // Some type of "Arcadish" shooter, preferably two players (any recommendations) // A couple fighters, DEFINITELY Street Fighter though.  Then of course if there are any suitable downloadable games.  I'm not going to go too crazy on the older games bc I already have a MAME cab in the same room.

So yeah, there it is, and this has definitely my biggest collecting score to date!!

  • I like the story. Just load it up like you're supposed to be there and most people won't care, especially employees.

Yeah, to me the story is the coolest parts.  It was like as soon as I stopped thinking about it one showed up!  Whenever I do go Game Stop dumpster diving I try to be as neat as possible; meaning I don't make a mess to try and ensure no one ever gets upset.
  • Since I mentioned my G.S diving I figured I'd post some of my favorite finds. I go with my brother, he keeps the non Nintendo stuff. There is SOOO MUCH more X-Box and Play Station (I mean of course, just sayin).

The glass sliding case I absolutely love. That sucker is HEAVY though, probably 50 lbs. It was a little tricky to mount, but it just looks so fancy.

The black Diablo shelf is really cool to me as well. I can't believe it had all the artwork. The shelf is metal, and the art is like a thick plastic with magnetic strips. It was missing the top shelf but I just cut it out of wood and painted it black.

A couple posters/promotional things. I love the big box Zelda's, and the Link Between Worlds promo stuff (one is a promo only case/cover art) I've also gotten 3 Wii boxes (all different) and 2 CIB 3DS system boxes. The little black shelf on the wall is okay for what it is, it's a thick cardboard so it'll eventual give out. I have stacks of DS cases, and I keep Wii/Wii-U cases. I really want to find some more Mario or DK stuff. I think that's most of the goodies.

I like keeping a clean organized game room so I try not to hoard!
