Steelo999's Find's

A couple of monts ago went to a garage sale that was advertised as having "Old Game Systems".  Got there kind of late so I did'nt think I'd find anything, guessing somebody else had snatched everything up.  As I walked up and looked around I did'nt see any games so I asked the guy who was running the sale if he had any game.  He said "Yes, I got them inside the house".  As I walked in the house the first thing I noticed was a boxed GameCube.  As I got closer I noticed an NES and a couple of Gold GameBoy game boxes. When I picked them up, they were 2 sealed copies of The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening!  I ended up getting the 2 Zelda's for $5! He also sold me the NES with 5 games for $15.  The best game in the NES lot was Battletoads which was pretty cool because I did'nt have it.  The only bad thing about the Zelda's is that they were Player's Choice copies.  So far this has been my best score.  I did sell one of the Zelda's for $127 on eBay.  The other one is staying in my collection.

suddenly, someone's avatar on NA makes sense ( I had previously thought it was some Winnie the Poo thing )

  • I had a good weekend at an Estate Sale.  Here is some of the stuff I scored for $115.

  • Found this lot on Craigslist for $25.  Happy to find NIV Bible and 2 variants of Final Fantasy Legend.
  • Wow a whole lot of good stuff there!
  • Scored a nice Craigslist deal.  All This plus an Atari with 12 games (Which I sold on Ebay for $177) for $75!
  • Found this at an Estate Sale today for $1.
  • Had a nice day at an estate sale in Seattle today.
  • That's an insane haul. Shantae is one of my holy grails, still haven't found it.

Edit: What's that Enix thing below Pokemon red?

Edit 2: It would appear to have something to do with Wonder Project J, a Japanese N64 game. I assume it's a special memory card of some sort?
  • Awesome stuff
  • It's an N64 controller pak. Says "Wonder Project J2" on the top of it.  I had never seen it before and it being Enix, I had to grab it for $4.
  • Wow amazing and love seeing that pacman thermos again after so long. I'd so have bought that if I had come across it too.
  • I may have to look into estate sales lol Nice!!!
  • I love how BFD is the only high-priced game in the lot there. I hope you haggled on that despite it being a great price to begin with. Just weird seeing how everything else is $3-5 including Shante, Harvest Moon, and SSB and it's Conker priced high. Clearly the estate sale people don't know what games are worth or based it on "oh Mario and Zelda are popular $5 for those and hey this red game must be rare lets put $8 on that." Good thing too. XDDD

Gotta love when stuff like this happens! Nice scores on the sealed copies.
  • Yeah, seeing CBFD for $25 and all the other stuff marked lower was strange.  I think they tried to look up prices.  I'm pretty sure they were overwelmed by the amount of stuff that was in this house.  They had mentioned that the lady was a hoarder.  The sale started on Friday but I had to work so my Wife went for me.  When she got there the people running the sale said they were not going to put out the games until 2:00 PM (the sale started at 10:00 AM), but as described to me by my wife as "Some Tall Guy", who later turned out to by Metal Jesus( from the YouTube fame), got them to bring out the games early.  They wanted to wait because they had not researched them yet.  They ended up putting out a few tubs of GameCube, DS, and Gameboy.  My wife snagged some of the titles she new, she snagged Zelda Windwaker, SM Sunshine, Paper Mario, and some other Mario, Pokemon, and Zelda Gameboy games, none of them were over $5.  Since they they had not priced the games she had to ask how much each one was. There was some Video Game Related Items they researched because they had a Vintage Donkey Kong & Star Fox watch for $25 each and a Snoopy Game & Watch for $30.  They also had a NES power glove without the sensors for $45.  Before she left they had said that they had more stuff they had to bring out so we decided to go back on Saturday.  When I was going through the tub that had the N64 games the first game I saw was CBFD but when I looked at the price I had the feeling of "oh crap, they did their research", but $25 was still a good price.  As I went through the rest everything else was low priced, the next highest game was Zelda Majora's mask for $10.  My Daughter actually snagged Shantae as she is my "Handheld expert". I did not show all of the stuff we got from Friday and Saturday, our running total spent so far is around $250.  I'm going back today as they still had some stuff left and everything is 50% off today.  Here are some other things I got. Don't really collect Tiger Handhelds so if anyone wants to do a trade PM me.
  • Wow, shantae for a few dollars?

I'm thinking that one may have just gotten looked up on ebay for whatever reason and they thought no one would pay that kind of money for a N64 game at an estate sale

Edit: Haha that's awesome that Metal Jesus was there. I would have been disappointed to not get to chat with him, he seems like one of the coolest youtube gaming personalities.

  • I love that DK watch! Wear it in good health.

Anyway, I was home and I decided to take one last look at Craigslist to see if anything new had popped up.  I noticed one that said “Nothing over $20” and they had a Nintendo with games listed.  So I jumped in my car and headed out as fast as I could.  The drive was around 25-30 minutes.  I show up and sure enough it was gone.  I asked the homeowner if he still had it and he said he just sold it 5 minutes ago.  So I was kind of upset and since I drove this far I decided to check out some other sales in the area.  I found one that was less than a mile away.  Once I got there it was a thrift shop, I walk inside and notice the shelf of games, of course the usual suspects you would find at a thrift shop, PS2 and XBOX sports games, racing games, Rock bands, etc.  They were asking $5 EA or 3 for $10.  There were 2 Game Cube games which caught my eye: Pac-Man Vs / Pac man World 2 (I had this game but my copy was not in the GC double disc case). When I opened it to my amazement was a loose disc that almost fell on the floor!  It was FIRE EMBLEM PATH OF RADIANCE!!!  I tried to get 3 games for $10 but the other GC game, Crazy Taxi had The Sims in it.  So I just handed the clerk $5 + tax and walked out with a Gem!
