Dead NES?

Hey People, I have encountered my first dead NES. I have been refurbing some systems and I came across one that does not power on. Is this an easy fix or should I just scrap it and move on? I was kind of shocked to find a dead NES never seen one before. So ya scrap it or are there some things I should look for inside?

  • It's most likely the capacitors. Open it up and look for swollen or busted caps.
  • Nah, it's more likely a cold solder joint on the AC plug. Take it apart and the port will have a little "ring" around the soler. just reheat with a little flux added and it'll be good as new.
