In 15+ years of going to that store, this was the only time I have seen that many boxed games. I almost passed them by since I usually do a scan for grey carts, not boxeds. haha. They blended into the VHS tapes/etc pretty well.
I passed up an awful condition copy of Commando with the box but without the manual this week... a childhood favorite but this thing was just in terrible shape, frayed all over, the top of the box was gone, I just couldn't do it. They had a bunch of cart only stuff too but I think they had been picked over, nothing but DIRT cheap commons left.
never understood why nintendo went the box route when sega was doing cases.
Cheaper, easier to produce, and if you step back away from being a collector of old games, you'll realize looking back most people throw boxes out whether it's an NES game, a CD jewel case, the box your television came in, whatever. Sega wanted to stand out and differentiate so they went with clam shell boxes, far more pricey but it does look nice and keep stuff safe. Nintendo went the disposable box route and gave you a nice dust sleeve to protect the game instead.
As far as this post goes, not amazing eh? I've never hit a place and seen that many boxed up games before and with stuff like the Zelda's and Castlevania's in there, it's overly amazing. And I see no love for Silent service again, it's a great game that gets the rodney dangerfield treatment.
Been looking for a NUON for a few years. I just watched a Youtube video of it again the other day, and went to the thrift shop hoping I would find one. And to my surprise, I actually did! It appears to work, sadly no controllers or remote. It was $5.99.

great find for sure! I'd be back at that store checking again and again
LOL, I go there every day. Sadly, there are like 5 other people I see everyday that do the same.
CIB Tetris
CIB The Little Mermaid $1.99 (with all inserts)
CIB Batman $4.99
Raphael $0.25
Even a few I didn't have.
