Snes game plays for 30 seconds then resets

in Help Wanted!
What might cause this? Ive taken the game apart, cleaned it, the battery still works becuase I can get it to the load screen sometimes before it reboots.  Game is Mario Rpg.

    I've had a game with a corrupted battery backed RAM that would crash and reset like this. Desoldering and removing the battery and letting the SRAM get erased fixed it, and it worked fine/saved once I'd reinstalled the battery.

    it worked for a little while but then it blipped again. upon resetting it only lasted a few scond again...hmm

    This may sound stupid but have you checked to make sure you are using the right power adaptor? I've seen this happen before.
