  • It's fine, it's a live listing! image Even when things have ended we usually only remove them upon request of the winner, meaning we pretty well only protect our own here.
  • From the auction description:

    "Hand not included!"

    LOL image
  • Thats my auction. It might be a little on high side but its harder to find than the cart, IMO. I hope it sells at least for my asking price or it will just go back into the safe.
If you have not looked at my site I have tons of NES instructions for sale all the time. www.tradengames.com
    Thanks

    Jason

  • that is not overpriced IMO. it is the right price for that manual (and i'm not just saying that because i have one). it all just matters who is looking for it right now and who has the funds. looks to be in great shape too. jason, do you mind if i ask the history behind this one? where did you get it and do you know anything about where it came from?
  • hmmmmmmmmm.....lot of double overtime this week........hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

    ~~NGD
  • I also think thats a fair price. The cart goes for that much and it pops up for sale many times a year. This probably comes up once a year.

When you said "not cheap though" I thought it was going to be like $3,000
  • its in very impressive condition too! there are a lot of heavy hitters still in need of this manual. may not get any bids till the last day, but this puppy will definitely sell! thank god i picked mine up for $300! image
  • I've seen this in person at Jason's store, It is in pretty nice shape.
  • The opening bid may be higher than the last few have gone, but this thing is totally going to get bids.
  • Shit at $1500 I am thinking of placing a bid!! It will end at 2K easy.
  • I was gonna say if someone doesn't buy it for the opening bid I will buy it to have 2. I made offers of $1,500 to at least 3 or 4 people that I know have it, a couple that aren't even public who only have the book, and no one would even give me the time of day on $1,500 offer.

Oh and I will give Jason free props on his website... I buy stuff on there all the time.  Inlcuding this morning I ordered about 10 NES manuals that I was low on.  Good Stuff Jason.  Hey and in case you notice my PayPal addy is different from the address I have registered with your website it's because I am finally starting to move everything over to the new house now that I have a firm offer and closing date on the sale of my old house in process... making 2 mortgage payments sucks and I'm glad that's almost over with!!

  • ^^ erik, i would've taken this for $1,500 too if it had no bids at the very end of the auction, but there is absolutely no way that it will happen. this thing easily gets at least a few bids on it
  • Yeah, there is no possible way this won't get any bids. Will get at least a few. Practically everyone needs it image

This should obliterate any previous sale for a single video game manual. Next most expensive is probably also an SE manual (the one Nick bought perhaps?).

  • Thanks everyone so far Im excited. I really could use the money for our vacation that was no BS. My wife will be very happy that I sacrificed something from my personal collection. This would be one of the very few items to leave that might not ever be replaced. I do have it scanned for our next book that will feature NES

As for how I cam across it. As many know I have /had 10's of thousands of instructions but this is the only one of this I have ever found. I got it many years ago and I always keep 1 of each manual or cart I got for the last 15 years. This was from a guys collection from at least 10 years ago that I got. He had sold the cart and box as just a common years before and then he found his stash of manuals. I almost got every manual made. For a long time I really did not pay attention to it and just had it filed with other orphan instructions. As I completed my boxed collection it was one of the few in the box and then I realized what I had.

  • sold mine two years ago to buyatari for $500... *sigh* image... now nick owns it. I am almost tempted to buy this just to say I have it again.

    Josh
  • I am pretty sure that the $875 Stadium Events manual sale from Buyatari to me still stands as the most expensive sale for a single manual. If this actually sells, then it will break the previous record by far.

    Nick
  • Crazy considering a Video Life Manual for Atari2600, sold for like $50, might have been resold for $100. Last Complete copy went for 5k. At these prices, Nintendo manuals are as bad as the games for Atari2600 lol.
  • fuck that. i would never pay that much for a manual or game.

i know it's rare, but i'll take my chances finding it in the wild image (1 in a million chances)

  • Worse odds than that.
  • lol he coulda offered free shipping, i mean damn image

    ok 1 in a tri-billion

Very funny. I wanted to offer free shipping but I could not get the Turbo Lister to do that it said I had to enter a value. As stated insurance is included and that could rund $15 by itself.
  • Well I definetly would have bought this from Jason if I still needed it for more than the starting bid. I talked with Jason on the phone over a year ago and he mentioned having this to me but wouldn't sell it back then. You remember that conversation Jason? The one where you told me you were the guy in the magazine holding the huge Gameboy? image Good times, will be fun to watch!

yeah i was kidding man. but good luck with the sale.

  • Sweet Jesus! A SE manual!
  • Just when you think you can scrounge up the money for one cool thing, another pops up... This one will end with a bid (likely not from me, unless I win the lottery between now and a few days from now, but you get the idea).
  • With the rarity and number of people looking, I think this will end with multiple bids for sure.

Yeah, I want it, but Its not for me at the moment, so I won't be bidding. I'm still holding out for a CIB one, anyways image

    Aren't we all! image

  • Unless one of the few people on here buy it I dont see it selling. Yes it is a very rare item and Jason is a great guy but the fact is probally 99 percent of us will never be able to afford to buy one and it would be nonsense to go in debt. Its is a blessing that some can afford to buy rare stuff but Once the few big spenders have some of the rare stuff the price is going to come down unless they buy extras. Its Jasons manual and like he said he wants at least 1500 for it or he will keep it. Myself I just dont see it selling especially with the economy in such trouble. Yes there are a few people that can afford it but that number is very very small.
  • Then there are the folks that can afford it but think spending that much on a manual is a bad idea, especially when a sealed copy sold for twice that much not that long ago.
