  • Sometimes yes and sometimes no. I personally wouldn't shop online with them unless it's brand new. I think most of the CD's they get they immediately run through a buffer even if the disc is in good shape.
  • If you're looking at PS2 or Gamecube, my guess is you've got around a 25% chance of getting it complete.

The current gen stuff is usually a better bet to be complete but you're still taking a big risk.
  • My first online purchase from them was somewhat bittersweet.

I ordered a copy of the Witcher 2 for the 360 when they had it on Cyber Monday sale, it arrived in a small sturdy package (not a box though) and was indeed a new copy of the game as the site stated.

Then I ordered another one and two copies of Dirt Showdown, which all three came in the same type of sturdy envelope. No damaging from shipping, but what made me upset was that the supposed "new" copy of the Witcher 2 was already taken out of the factory seal. It also had the Gamestop new sicker stamped on the factory casing. I am guessing that it was a used one they sent me trying to pass off as new.

For what I paid for all four games, I am not complaining, but I did get duped out of a new copy for a unused open copy.

All the others did arrive in the factory cases, all factory sealed though. From my knowledge this happens from time to time, as I have read on other forums, but it's not something that happens frequently. They have the return to store option for items bought online if you are not satisfied too, which is a plus.
  • I wouldn't recommend it. It is all dependent. I have got complete copies but I have also got generic copies. One time I bought a "new" ps2 game which was gutted and sunfaded. I was outraged and amazed at the same time. I did buy a Tales of the Abyss after the reprint which were new but they sold as used, it was minty fresh. Also if you still have an EDGE card you can stack it with promo code CAG16 to get 26% off pre-owned. Haha gamestop and their trickery, I will never give up my EDGE discount!!!
  • With gamestop you're better off checking availability at the local stores (their website is really good for doing this, it works well, as is the mobile app) and then calling each one that shows in stock, confirming it's in stock, and asking if it has the original case/manual. The employees can then hold it for up to 2 days, if you ask, so you can drive down there and nab it.
