bubbles in game labels

I was going over a few of my games and I noticed that a couple of them have started to get a bubble in the label.  Odd because I normally check for stuff like this.

I noticed a couple gameboy games and a few sega genesis games doing this.

I keep all of the games in those big rubbermade bins and keep them upstair where it stays pretty dry and room temperature.  I am sure it gets a little colder at night but since we sleep up there it isnt like the heat is totally off.

I did buy all of these games used and most of them from gamestores in the area.  Any idea on what causes this and what I could be doing wrong?

  • I had a label bubble because I kept it in my glove box too long. I assume it was the back and forth from hot and cold that did it. I was able to kinda smooth it back out but there's a little crinkle where it didn't sit perfectly flat. I considered putting it back in my car to see if I could get it to bubble again... and flatten it better... but I have too many other projects at the moment to care.

If anybody has a good method for getting small creases out of labels I'm all ears.
  • Heat the labels to melt the adhesive back out, worst case you could heat it enough to peel it back past the bubbles then just re-lay it down
