Gb sp save help

Do gameboy sp's lose the ability to save at all or is it only the games that can. I got an sp at a pawn shop and thing I'm screwed because it won't save my mother 3. And it also doesn't have sound just for that game

  • The game carts have the save memory inside them. They can if they have batteries, but I thought most were flash/eeprom.
  • Yea I know the carts have the save battery but I saw an eBay listing advertising that the system saves so I got to thinking maybe my system is the problem
  • The system has no save capability. Sounds like something might be wrong with your Mother 3 cartridge? Is it a reproduction of some kind, or is it japanese?
  • Does that cartridge have a battery? If so it most likely needs to be replaced, which is easy to do if you can solder.
  • Yeah, plus it's probably a seller saying the gameboy can save because he has no idea what he's talking about and was probably asked by others the same question?

    This
  • Yes, it's possible that the gameboy could be damaged in a way the prevents saving back to cartridges. If the correct pins are not connecting for some reason you will not be able to save. I've seen that with other systems... plus with the sound issue you are having I bet your Gameboy is defective, You'll have to test the games on another system to be sure but that is my guess.

and will someone please remove the christmas tree on this site, it's annoying on the ipad, it won't stay out of the way.
