Were nes systems sold sealed in stores ?

I have a guy in my area telling me he has 7 new nes systems sealed in gold wrapping? I thought all systems were never sealed ? Please help on this. Thanks

  • Yea, I'm pretty sure most consoles weren't sealed in a factory full box seal. If they were sealed, chances are it was circle stickers or something similar.
  • no cello and i don't even remember a circle seal, but could be wrong about that .
  • Maybe they were Christmas presents. I don't believe any system was sealed... I'm no expert though. There might have been a gold sticker seal.
  • Yea, I don't remember any console, even today, have full seals. Some I am sure have circle seals, but most big ones just came in a box, kind of like special editions for games do today in the bigger than normal boxes. Though most have circle seals on them, wrecking the boxes at times (Dante's Inferno)
  • i'd tell him if he's got 7 sealed in gold he better take a chance and see if the system inside is gold, he's got a million bucks, only 7 golds were ever made LMAO
  • Never seen signs of a sticker seal on any NES system box I've seen. Most Nintendo systems aren't sealed at all, save for handhelds and some bundled consoles that have the clear circle sticker seal.

This made me laugh. Thats a new one. I like it!
  • I have a pkmon n64 with circle seals, but none of my NES boxes or any I've seen have any kind of seal or traces of a seal.
  • Thanks for the input guys I knew I never saw any like that. Heck I remember opening my control deck when I was 6 and it never had a seal . The guy said he would send me a picnic ten minutes , I said ok and with that pic add in your name and today's date so I know is not some google pic . That was 2 hours ago and no pic lol. Guys trying to tell me my power set on eBay is not new because its not sealed lmao . There really is a bunch of morons on Craigslist in my area
  • I'd love to see the pic(s) he sends.. I just double checked all of my NES sets, and didn't see any signs of a circle seal on any of them. And no, not even the power set. I can say this for my challenge, sports, deluxe, power, action, control deck, and top loader NES sets, no signs
  • I totally agree with you I have never seen a sign of a seal on any systems I have new used sold bough none . I mean you would think all these years collecting someone would have mentioned this lol . This guys a joke I won't hold my breath for this pic
  • Was this the Wonker release?

We put circle seals on some of the ones we got in @ Gamestop cause kids kept opening the ends and pulling shit out. By that time they were all stacked out on the sales floor by the clearance table rather then backrom stock.
