Why Do So Many Threads Get Locked When There is a Master Thread?
It seems like so many threads are being locked lately because there is one master thread. The latest one I noticed is a thread about fake Earthbounds: http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=5&threadid=82701. This thread had 62 replies, but then was locked suddenly because there is a master thread to report fakes. I'd think any thread that garners enough interest to get 62 replies deserves it's own thread. I'd think the purpose these master threads were created is to stop all of threads that don't get the attention of people. I just don't see the purpose of locking a thread that gets a lot of interest potentially hiding it in one of these master threads. I know I'm less likely to look at it if it's in there.
Another one I saw the other day was a guy showing off his N64 collection, a thread that shows up a lot, but it was locked because he included a you tube video showing off his collection. This was not a thread about a you tube video, it was a thread about his collection that happened to include a you tube video showing it, yet it was locked because he didn't put it in the you tube video thread.
I guess my point would be, maybe it's not always a good idea to lock threads just because a master thread exists. Sometimes topics deserve their own unique thread.

Yeah, because your five days here makes you an aficionado.
With the other ones, stuff is usually getting locked because it either doesn't merit its own thread, or is already being covered elsewhere.
Speaking of locks...
