    By the pallet load, right?

If that were the case, I would be scorching my shorts all night long.

Looks awesome. I'll be buying one for sure.

  • I hope the price is a joke. I won't be getting a real NES so this would be my ideal replacement. One of my favorite all-time consoles after Genesis and SNES!
  • They look great! Hopefully they'll be available soon!
  • Amazing. I've been waiting for this since the thread first went up, I sure hope I can afford to get one at launch.
  • At this rate, i might ditch my top loader for one. Damn that thing is sexy. Any pics of the controller?

Here's a picture of the controller that was posted a while back. I'm not sure if this ended up being the final design or not though.

  • Hey bunny, I really like your package.

Of course that price is a joke.  Pretty sure he's riffing on Analogue NT's pricing.

Maybe for a 6-Pak at wholesale? I hope, LOL! This is NES, not Neo Geo last I checked.

Gotta love that six inch cord. I heard the final will be wireless, and can optionally fit into vintage controller casing.
  • It could come in a plain brown box and i wouldn't mind. I just want one asap!
  • Are these going to be available to PRGE? I was on the fence about going this year, but I might make an exception now. I can't wait to get one of these plugged into my TV.
  • I have been waiting for this for years. I'm going to have to convince myself to wait just a little longer.
  • Damn, I just bought an Analogue NT and an AV Famicom Toploader. Now I have to add another NES to the mix! Looks really good--maybe in time for Christmas?

Yeah this looks great! I have an Analogue too, but I'm thinking I need HDMI nes in two rooms in my house.
  • Well, at least the AVS will be cheaper than the Analogue, unless the $899 quote wasn't meant as a joke. I'm interested because it's a Famicom and NES compatible system with brand new new parts that doesn't suck, and HD video!

Gonna keep my NES and AV Famicom stock. Well my NES really isn't stock anymore (BLW, CopyUSB plug in the back, expansion audio pot, blue LED) but the AV Famicom is (with the exception of jumpers from the expansion port to the Player 2 accessory pins for Zapper support).

Not sure if you were still referring to the Analogue NT, but it definitely doesn't suck. Analogue as a company definitely sucks though.
  • I don't feel like going digging through 1800+ posts so can someone confirm if this will have network connectivity for high score tracking? is that still a thing?

Not at all. Perhaps I should change "that" to AND. It's a bit outrageous on the price though.

Original hardware (SD, cheap) = old parts = doesn't suck

Analogue NT (SD or HD, expensive) = old parts = doesn't suck

Modern SOAC clones (SD, very cheap) = new parts = sucks

Retron5 (HD, medium price) = new parts = sucks

AVS (HD, price???) = new parts = doesn't suck.

Only the AVS is made from 100% new parts, doesn't suck. Presumably, it will be more affordable than the Analogue. New parts is important to me because stock consoles are limited supply.

Yes it is. We have been actively uploading scores to NA's beta site for over a year now.

It won't have EVERY game ready to upload on release...but the feature is definelty built in.

is there a possibility of the cart interfacing with the adapter to download new levels or something similar? I have an idea for that.
  • Don't think so. The scoreboard system is not a separate adapter. It is a built in feature on the system.

You would have to talk to Brian about the technical stuff.

That's amazing! How does it connect to the network, wireless or hard-wired?

  • The USB that powers the system is the same cable that transfers data. All that is required is a computer connected to the net while running a basic program during gameplay. Once your game is over, you head back to main menu screen and your score is ready to load.
  • Fantastic! Who would to think that the NES could have network possibilities 30 years later!? Can't wait!

Does the scoreboard log inputs? This would make it possible to verify the high score data independantly to ensure the user is not tampering with the game, device, or network connection.

  • Dunno, but I do know the powers that be have already taken measures to prevent the use of game genies, powerpaks with modified ROMS and such.

Pretty sure they won't stop ALL cheaters, if somebody really wanted to....but pretty sure they have stopped me from figuring out a way around the system.

Or someone could always use an Arduino NESbot to stream tool assisted speedruns, assuming the AVS is cycle accurate...

Can you do that on an orignal cart or with an original ROM?

Basically, if the guys have not loaded the ROM, it will not reconize the score...or so I am thinking.
