Two day trip from New Orleans to Baton Rouge

Friday DaraQuick and i stopped at Gameware and PlayNTrade on our way up to St. Francisville to spend the night at The Myrtles Plantation (one of the most haunted places in the US. wooooooooo scary!)

first stop, Gameware at the Mall of Louisiana. my buddy Steve is the General Manager for both locations, so its a fun trip even if i dont find anything worthwhile. this time i brought a bunch of triplicates i was tired of looking at, and got $40 in trade. that plus a little cash got me this:

Retro Duo Portable, D-Force, Time Cop, and Operation: Logic Bomb

Then we rolled down the street to Play N Trade. i never find anything good there, but i guess they recently bought a large lot. got these:

Robotron 64 was one of those titles i played a lot with friends when i was younger, so i wanted it for nostalgia and didnt care about the ink pen on the label. Agassi was a dollar, and my copy has a bad top label so this is an upgrade. Dino City, Aero, and Power Rangers were all needed.

then we slept at the "haunted plantation." it was uneventful:

Saturday we went to two fleamarkets and didnt find a single game. so we went to the other PlayNTrade in Prairieville and i got these:

Then we went to the other Gameware and i got these for 40 bucks:

while we were driving to the flea markets, i remembered a place that bought used games back when i was a student at LSU, so i decided to pass it just to see if they were still around. it looked like they were still in business but werent open at the time. so we went back after visiting the Louisiana Science Museum. they were actually open!!!

i got Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle, Air Strike, Bassin's Black Bass, and Breakthru carts, and then as i was digging through some stuff i found a SEALED COPY of Megaman X6. then i looked up, and there was a stack of CIB SNES and NES, some of them sealed too. in that stack was a Mach Rider, and i freaked out thinking it might be a sticker seal. but it was just complete, no sticker seal. i brought them up to the counter and the owner (who only takes cash) was already haggling with Dara. she got a nice stack of CIB stuff and a Saturn 3D controller for 50 bucks. so i said "gimme a price that will make both of us happy" and he said "smart man! how about 70 bucks?"

S.O.L.D. SOLD. needless to say, i got his business card and we will be going back because he had literally mountains of stuff stacked to the ceiling all over the shop. we didnt even scratch the surface of the stuff in there.

then on the way home we stopped at the local PlayNTrade, where i got these:

i dont collect CIB for N64, but i figured for 5 bucks i shouldnt pass up Star Soldier since someone on NA might want it. then i scooped up a few more carts just to check some off the list.

Dara is going to post what she picked up!

PS if i didnt mention a price, i got most of the carts for 4-5 bucks at gameware & playntrade. agassi was a buck, and the stuff at the secret spot was 70 for everything. the retroduoportable was 80.

we only get titles we enjoy playing for every other company. i was going to buy that Megman to play if it were opened or resealed, but since its still factory sealed its tradebait.
