Suggestion for Seller's Forum

I just registered today so i probably shouldnt even propose suggestions yet...so please forgive me but i was wondering, why not make sub-categories for Sellers Forum? Like Gamecube, Wii, NES, SNES, NDS etc. Its a bit messy in there at the moment.

Sorry again and great forum btw!

  • We keep it to a single category because multiple sub-categories get to be a moderator nightmare and we like to keep the forums simple and clean.

A single Sellers forum looks much better on the forum page then 5 - 10 would.

also how would we treat other systems?

  • Another major problem is that usually people have stuff for multiple systems for sale at the same time. So you'd get stuff all mixed up anyway.

There could always be loose sub-forum like that one existing or new called "Other". Was just a small suggestion, as i for example was only looking or DS games and going through all those offers is a real nightmare.

But i see Your point about Moderator. There can always be extra sub-forums to existing Seller's Forum that focus on one console and if people want, they can post there, on the other hand if they have mixed sales, they can just leave the things the old way and post in the place that exists now.

  • I've suggested this before. I would love to see sub-categories.

Paul wouldn't that make everything more simple and clean then a massive list of 100 active threads being bumped constantly? Also I don't see how moderating would be any different. Maybe assign each mod a category to keep track of?

  • BTW Velsu, you should have seen it a few months ago when we had the buyers and sellers thread combined. That was a nightmare.
  • Say what lol.

    I cant even imagine it
  • Try using the search function to find the DS games for sale in the Seller's forum if going thru threads is too much work.
  • It's not too much work to seach. It's just a little confusing and in my opinion, sub categories would make it a lot more easy to navigate.

The way the seller forum is now is like saving every single word document to one folder instead of creating multiple folders for work, college papers, etc. Yes you can search, but organizing makes everything a lot more simple and clean IMO.

With the high volume of people selling here I think it makes perfect sense.

Again thanks for the input, but this isn't going to change the stance we've had now for 6 years about adding multiple forum categories.

IMO it's fine the way it is.  Everything for sale gets put in one place.  It's easy enough to search it and if noone wants to take the 10 seconds it takes to search, then fun have digging thru 100s of for sale for trade threads.
