I guess this is why we go to Salvation Armies

So, like alot of people, sometimes I question why we even bother with Goodwills and Salvation Armies. I never really found anything good in them... Until today.

I finally found a market around where I am that seems to not be completely ravaged by resellers and collectors. I'm keeping this one a secret, but I found all of the above in a Salvation Army just sitting there in the glass case waiting for someone to pick it up. Total Cost: $25.

And, as always, everything I find will be for sale at some point in the near future, and I'm accepting offers even if it isn't in my store!

  • Wow! Dark rift!, nice!
  • Hey I thought it looked cool. And I haven't played it yet.
  • Ah Mega Man X7, a game everyone in the MM community was so hyped for before it came out. Too bad it was a disaster of a game.

Yeah while I was waiting in line I was looking at the back of the box. It.... doesn't look good.
  • shit. Awesome

But in all seriousness, sick find man! I want that Pokemon Box
  • It'll be for sale as soon as I can get pictures, test it, etc. Probably tomorrow or the next day if I'm lazy.
  • Yeah, basically game is too easy, mechanics feel much slower then every other X game, and the VA's make your ears bleed. Not a bad soundtrack though.

Most Mega Mans have an awesome sound track, if nothing else.
  • Nice finds. The only thing I've ever picked up in a Salvation Army was a Gameboy Printer for $2. I'm jealous.
  • Trust me. This is like THE ONE AND ONLY Salvation Army find I've ever gotten. I think the most I've ever scored before was two NES Controllers for .25 cents apiece and two GBA games sealed... but were worth like 10 bucks.
  • Nice score. Don't sell blackthorne till you play it.

    Why's that?
  • Damn, Dark Rift, Mega Man and Pokemon Box. Nice find! I probably should look more into Goodwills and Salvation Armies but I kind of lost hope when the extent of my findings was a Grape Purple N64 controller with a good joystick for 3 bucks.
  • Nice hit. I've found quite a few good things my the nearby Salvation Army, but it's very hit or miss. I either get a major score, or just browse a stack of sports games for the PS2.

Dunno if it's just the ones around here, but i'm pretty sure they restock on Thursdays. That seems to be the day I get my best finds.
  • The one by my works been pretty lackluster, I picked up a AV switcher from there not too long ago, was happy with that. Also got a SNES game that sounds like a bad porno, College Slam.
  • Your threads always make me sad since I know it's all just getting resold lol. Still a good find though.

It's all about the hunt. These things wouldn't become available to you or I if it were for people seeking them out. Be thankful for the resalers, they unearth the treasures for us.
  • Not ragging on him, we all have to make a living... it just coulda been me finding it for the $25 and cutting out the resale. It only makes me sad, not angry, lol
  • I've regretted passing it up ever since, but oddly enough, a GameStop I went to last year had the Pokemon box memory card for sale. I passed because they wanted $20, but the chances of finding it loose again are slim to none.

And now he has a 'glory hole' all to himself.
  • None of those items were found at said 'glory hole'

    Didn't say they were.

Only refering to the area in which items were not ravaged by resellers.

  • Could this area be claimed as ravaged, since he will buy all things worth any value to resell?
  • I'll give you $25 for it + shipping to just cover your costs

I think it would take more than one reseller to ruin a place for others. I mean, he can be there all the time.

There are a few people around the Chattanooga area who might surprise you... I swear some of these assholes clone themselves. One for each thrift store and one to sell copies of Super Mario World for $40 at the flea market.

    I resell things I don't need or don't want.

The things I collect are never seen here.

I resell that stuff so that I can replenish my funds and go out and get more things I need. It's a way of self-sustaining my habit. If you have a problem with that I'm sorry.

And what does this even mean? I didn't find these things at the location I -DIDN'T- reveal?
