How about a Hall of Fame thread?

With the Hall of Shame now back, why not create a Hall of Fame thread too for NA members who go above and beyond what was expected. I know we can explain the details when we give positive feedback, but we can do that with negative feedback as well and we have the HoS. I know we have the HoS to identify people not to deal with, but it'd also be cool to know the outstanding people to deal with, especially if someone is new here. Plus a positive thread on here is never a bad thing. Just a thought.

  • With that logic, wouldn't anyone with a moderate amount of feedback be in the Hall of Fame? I mean, we're treading on a slippery slope here; what would separate positive feedback from extraordinary feedback then? It's an unspoken truth, all of us who aren't in the HOS are in the HOF. To be able to play here itself is HOF. We just don't need a forum to advertise it. Know what I'm saying?
  • I like the idea of recognizing exceptional members, but I think it would have to do with more than trades or general dealings. If we want to identify members who are great for the community sure I say go for it, might also make a nice feature in the ezine
  • I think this makes more sense as a member spotlight / member recognition in the eZine as well. It's hard to really incentivize anyone do to better than perfect. If you ship stuff on time, as described, and charge fair prices, you probably have high feedback anyway.
  • Also didn't someone here try to do something like member of the month?
  • All the above are valid points, but everyone at some point has dealt with a seller who absolutely wowed them and that's where I'm going with this. Of course 99.9% of everyone here have great transactions, but I'm talking about those exceptional transactions where the sellers went above and beyond what was necessary. Call it HoF,member of the month, whatever. Just saying it would be nice to recognize NA members for their exceptional service when it's deemed appropriate.
  • I've got one or two guys out there that have done some amazing stuff for me, and on both ends, both old and new users. I like the idea.
  • WOuldn't this end up like a popularity contest though?

Many people only recommending people who they're friends with.

  • Yep, I agree with Paul on this, it would just become a popularity contest. I feel that if you want to publically acknowledge someone for going above and beyond, post it in the brownie points thread. I am quite surprised that thread did not die yet, so I say just use that.
  • If people go above and beyond, I'm guessing it's not to get recognition or "brownie points".

We have some genuinely good people on this site. I think a simple PM expressing your gratitude goes a long way.
