Dance Dance Revolution Extreme (Japan Import)

Sorry for making a new thread but I was afraid it might not be seen in the other one and I could really use some information on this. I happened to pick up a Japanese import copy of Dance Dance Revolution Extreme on PS2. I got it for literally $2 at Goodwill. I know it won't work in an American PS2. Here are a few pictures.

As you can see, the case has a small chip in it where you open it, but I figured the case can always be replaced. Everything else seems to be in great condition. I used to be big into DDR about 10 years ago. Does anyone have any information on this? It would be grealy appreciated.

  • You did very well, indeed. The DDR games were always more popular in Japan than they were here. Also, IIRC, the Japanese versions have different music from the American and European versions... In that condition, it's worth about $60.
  • I bought this game from that Import site that shut down many years ago, Lik Sang I believe. I paid $100 for it plus shipping. It's the best DDR game because it's the Arcade cabinet game on PS2 where as the DDR Extreme for America is completely changed and sucks balls. THis was indeed a GREAT find. All said in done depending on the model PS2 you have is to what you need to play this. I modded my PS2 fat model with a flip top mod and bought a disc to run imports. I still have the disc some where, but not sure where. All in all I would say if you have a DDR mat it is worth playing for sure. If you need a Cobalt Flux I have one for sale, just let me know
  • Why so expensive for a DDR Jap game on the PS2?
  • The japanese games are so expensive cuz they're pretty much ports of the arcade games that everyone loved. The American versions of "Max", "max2", and "extreme" are vastly different. The american Extreme is a piece of s***.

That was a great score. I spent $78 on my Extreme. No regrets, i love this game.
  • Damn, this whole time I've been wondering where all the great DDR tracks went.
  • Japan. I bought a Japanese PS2 just to play those DDR games. The Konamix on psOne and Max2 on PS2 are the only good American DDRs
