Then how about implementing my suggestion but giving both parties the option of adding the "moment of truth" after the transaction has closed so that they can state their case if they don't like the feedback they received?
At the end of the day, feedback is an opinion. A stupid reason to you for leaving bad feedback might not seem stupid to someone else. That's the point. If everyone were completely honest, I doubt that many if any of us would have 100% positive feedback.
Yes, there are some jerks out there, but if you don't trust anyone with zero feedback, don't do business with them. Problem solved.
Members should not be afraid of leaving less than stellar feedback for fear of retaliation. I imagine that most people would leave positive feedback but be more honest about shipping, communication, etc. Then other potential buyers and sellers could make more informed decisions.
As for the HoS topic, a few good ideas were brought up here (and a few of them had already been under discussion), but it requires more investigating to see what's actually feasible to implement.
I was thinking that it would be kinda neat if the HoS icon next to a user was clickable, and when you click it a small window will pop up with a very short summary for why they got the icon.
I just think that there is a huge difference between editing your bid at an auction because you didn't know it was against the rules, and actually scamming a person with intent.
I know there is the HoS thread but I thought this would be convenient and not too hard to implement.

I like the idea of clickable icons. The summaries are already in the HoS, so it would just be a simple copy/paste job if the system gets implemented.

the only thing is it is always a bad idea to give more people reason to complain. Like when Ebay did the DSR. That was for their own use to see transactions, but in return now people dont understand stars and now have more options to complain. Either your happy or your not. Dont give people more reason to nitpick. doesnt exactly apply to this situation, but just a reason not to alter feedback systems.
I got a Hos icon because a trade fell through and the guy reported me for not holding up my end of the deal... can I PLEASE get it removed. I was a new member for under a week and now it looks awful and probably deters trades I have 100% feedback positive on here

I agree with this totally. Changing the feedback system is miniscule in the scheme of things.

This is not the place to ask that sort of thing. You can send a PM to the HOS Master if you would like to talk about your icon.
First offence minor issue get a little icon ! second offence or severe offence and it should be your avatar that is changed to something that represents said offence.
Hey I got an idea guys. Can we make the HoS icon be linked to the HoS thread?? Everytime I see one I want to click it and find out how they soiled their name but then I realize I got to search for the HoS thread and I don't even care anymore at that point. If possible I think it would be a great addition.
Sadly, you're right about the Capt. But what the feedback system doesn't do, the HoS does, at least that's what it seems/feels like.
So just add their icon to the profile screen, as in a small "NOTICE" type block?
I was thinking something like the icon to their profile screen/near the avatar, and if you hover the cursor, it just says something small like "Time Waster", "Scammer", etc.
How about a notification of some kind on pm's and transaction requests when you are dealing with someone in the HOS? HOS is a nice tool but it's kind of a hassle to go there and comb the list for every transaction.
