Garage Sale Time Once A Month?

Dear NintendoAge,



I realize that if Garage Sale time was as often as once a month, it wouldn't be so special.



I am making a suggestion that we should have Garage Sale at least once a month or once every two months.



It would be only one-two weeks long.



This would be ideal for people who resell/need extra cash and have clutter of electronics and other junk in their house that they need to get rid of.



Garage sale time seems to take forever to come around again.



If nothing could be done, I fully understand.

    If it were once a month it would be going on half the time. We didn't even have much participation last time compared to the prior ones.



    I like it quarterly personally, but that's just my opinion. Happy to hear what other people think.

    I am not a fan of the Garage sales because it makes it impossible nagigate the BST forum. Threads move fast enough as it is. Once a quarter is more than enough IMO.

    Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of Garage Sales either. Maybe allow your non-gaming items at the bottom of your FS thread, but only if you have gaming related items to sell instead of the quarterly garage sales?

    This actually sounds better.



    Maybe the rules could be tweaked so that we could put our non-gaming items at the bottom of our FS thread?

    I would love it if GST threads were in another forum and didn't not contain game related items. Personally I dislike trying to navigate the BSt thread during GST times and it actually makes me buy less, which I am sure isn't what seller want. If it was moved to it's own place I could shop as normally and browse GST if I felt like it. #My2Cents

    I don't like the Garage Sale's to be honest.



    I like the quarterly.

    Quarterly works for me.



    I never have stuff to unload when it's garage sale time, though... I always wait until it isn't, and then end up selling it elsewhere...

    That's what I was thinking too.  If they're going to happen more frequently, that would be the best solution.

    I've always liked how NA was games only. That is why we all signed up here, for Nintendo, not for random junk! I completely ignore the FS area during garage sale times, and it seems like I am not the only one.



    Did anyone have any success with the garage sales? To me it seems like a lot of nothing went on with those threads, but I could be wrong.

    Quarterly is good.



    I don't think non-gaming items should be included in the FS threads. I can see it getting out of hand quickly (for instance, one cart and 50 non-gaming things for sale, etc.).



    I wonder if a dedicated thread could be created each time there is a garage sale and everyone can post their items for sale in there so it doesn't clutter up the FS forum. I don't mind perusing long threads, but it might not be for everyone.

    I wouldn't mind a single thread, as long as it doesn't get cluttered up with "PM sent" and people bumping it all the time. Sticky it, that could solve it.



    Limit it to one post per user and they can edit when stuff is removed.



    Of course, it works best when people post thumbnails or correctly attach images. Pet peeve of mine is massively odd sized pages because of a bunch of strange image sizes

    I dont want to have to look through peoples junk that often, and it bumps down topics I actually care about on the forums. I do like the garage sale idea, but I think its fine how it is.

    How about make a new forum thing that's closed for posting until it's garage sale time, so it doesn't clutter the BST forum?
