Isn't it pretty obvious that if somebody logged in that they read the message? Who would log in and see that text and not read the message? So I just assume if he or she has logged on the message has been read.

Lots of people.
I personally get on average 5 PMs a day, some days it's 20 and other days it's 10.
Just because I have a message doesn't mean I'm going to read it immediately.

Also, often times I am logged in via my phone or computer but not actually on the site reading anything.

Likewise. Sometimes I forget to close my browser window before I went to bed, so I appear logged in all throughout the night. I usually get back to PMs very quickly but sometimes there are legit reasons for being unable to respond.

It's a privacy matter and many feel that others would get hurt/offended to see a PM has been read but not answered to.
We treat PMs like a piece of mail. It gets delivered but you don't know if they've read it or not.
D'OH!!! DAMN YOU PAUL, YOU BEAT ME TO IT!!!
We both used the same big, fancy word "implemented" too.
Ah i see i kinda figured that privacy may be a issue, thanks tho

This has been previously discussed and it is not something that we would like to implement here at NintendoAge.

Couldn't agree with this more. Reminds me of back in the Myspace days...

Touching the body of the message doesn't prompt the virtual keyboard.
I log in but need a pc to respond.

Just use mobile.nintendoage.com, which uses a normal text box.

I believe that was brought up before but I can't find the thread. Basically the conclusion was that was a privacy issue and will not be implemented.

I love it when you boys use those big sexy words all sexy like.
I dunno, I wouldn't mind. I tend to answer all of my messages though.
