Golgo 13 and Wurm

I am a big fan of the NES game "Golgo 13". The other day I was watching a video on ScrewAttack of Chad playing a game called "Wurm" also for the NES. I couldn't help but notice as the game continued on, that the multiple engines the game emplores seemed identicle to those of Golgo 13. I checked out the publishers and producers and they did not match up. I could not believe these games were not related, so I investigated further. Sure enough I found the connection. After the completion of Golgo 13 two of Vic Tokais developers left to join a small publisher named Sofel and make their own game. That game was Wurm, and it was published by Asmik in the United States.

Just thought I'd throw out that interesting information to anyone interested. If you like one of these games, you're sure to like the other, so give it a try.

  • I liked both games, didn't really notice the similarity until you pointed it out. Wurm always gets bashed anytime I've ever heard anyone mention it but it's really a solid game. Thank God they avoided those lame mazes in Wurm.
  • I like Golgo, I haven't played Wurm much, but when I did, it was a few short minutes and I hated it, maybe I should give it another try.

Yeah I am pretty sure I checked this game out once real quick and didn't like it. I probably never played past the first stage which is the shooter engine (the helicopter stages from Golgo). I am only a fan of certain shooters, usually  not side scrolling ones, so I probably just dismissed the game thinking the whole thing was a shooter.
