  • i like mine i use it all the time, haven't noticed any issues with mine, i'm sure someone will chime in with their issues

    but i like mine.
  • and you can plug and play on tv as a nes.
  • All clones are clones, basically pick a shell as all others have very similar bad clone hardware.
  • ^What he said. The buttons on my FC Mobile have "collapsed", but are still completely operable. Not sure if it's a defect, but when you turn up the volume, the music gets really distorted.

Thanks to the clone hardware, some channels are dramatically quieter, such as the bass. Some games don't seem to wanna work right, barring the MMC5 games. They include Paperboy and Gauntlet, ironically both developed by Tengen/Atari. Also ironic is that the unlicensed version of Gauntlet actually fires up, the licensed one does not.
  • damn i haven't had any problems with mine , i guess i'll say yet . . .
  • DSiXL and a flash cart, for the same reason you don't see record players in cars.

Leave it to Scotty to come up with a great analogy. hahaha
  • Yeah, I just use my PSP for playing NES (and SNES and etc) ROMs on the bus. I don't see an advantage to using clone hardware that can't play all the games and is limited to what's in my closet (and released in English).
  • My FC Mobile II works flawlessly. Other then some of the games not being compatible it is probably the best NOC portible you can get.
  • I have loved mine its really the only reason I have played some of my games because I just pick a couple up for a road trip or something and have not had any issues. Yea some games are not compatible but so what? People always say get a psp or ds and emulate. To me there is not replacing a cart in a slot.
  • I have had mine for a week now, and it's quite good. Battery life is decent but be prepared to buy a massive amount of batteries, the unit takes batteries then more the controllers and the zapper, I'm surprised the adapter doesn't need batteries lol.

Every mainstream NES game I have tried so far works great, it plays none of my Tengen games.

The volume is a little twitchy but ok.

And the screen is bright and colorful but rather small I notice if I am playing a game with alot going on the screen it gets hard to keep track of everything games like SMB2 and Silver Surfer etc..

All in all I am pleased with the system and the nostalgia factor of playing the actual carts is awesome.
  • Yeah the speakers suck, one of mine was blown out of the box so I replaced them both with someting a little better.
  • I had one for a while but was dissapoonted with screen size, Everything else was enjoyable. I am thinking of picking another one up, if someone can confirm you can mod the screen.
  • Isn't that kind of the definition of 'not flawlessly' by saying the FC Mobile II is flawless but isn't compatible?
  • I see what you did there........ And only 2 games that I ran into that are well known to not work on ANY NOC device is Castlevania III and Afterburner Tengen.

Other then that all the games I have in my collection have been tested on that device.

Ok so it works almost flawlessly but has a couple of compatibility issues.

    Better?
  • The retroduo portable nes adapter with a simple fix more or less runs CV3 which amazed me.

And yeah, just was curious to see what you'd do when I wrote that.
  • I just want a company to come out with a solid, well made retro portable. I don't care if it costs $200 bucks. I think people would buy a sleek system with nice controls and clear screen. I have superboy and can only play RPGs on it because the Dpad sucks. I think its great that companies are coming out with clone consoles, but come on give us something worth a shit.
  • Retro Duo Portable is about it, as far as SNES goes. It is the only system that can handle all the special chipped games without problems, but the optional NES jack has some issues like NOACs tend to do which is dumb.

These things seem to be really issue prone. The first one I purchased had blown speakers out of the box. I exchanged it only to receive one that wouldn't charge. In fact, after I had left it plugged in for about a half hour it started smoking and smelled of burnt plastic. After exchanging that one, I finally seem to have gotten one that works. I've tested it with every NES, SNES and Genesis game that I own and the only game that it absolutely won't work with is Castlevania 3. The biggest problem I have with it (now that I finally have one that works) is that it doesn't give you any kind of indication that the battery is running down. It just shuts off with no warning, so if you have been playing it for a few hours, it's a good idea to go ahead and charge it to be safe.
