Hi!
I'm new to collecting and this seems to be the go-to place! When emulators became pretty good I stopped caring about the hardware, but got back interested once I saw someone had rigged up TAS input to an actual NES console to confirm the input works (I think it was a Mario 2 run). Since then I've become steadily more interested and found myself going to flea markets and game shops. I'm an electrical engineer (embedded systems) and would love to learn more about homebrews and creating custom ROMs. Gotta get back to work!
