  • I have an Apex brand CRT and it's been good to me for the last 10 years , has S-Video which gives a really clear picture if you have the output cables for it.
  • I have a 27" GE TV that I bought in 1994 when I got my first job(age 14). I couldn't even atempt to guess the number of hours i've logged on this thing. It's like Al Bundy's Dodge; it will never die. All the movies's and TV shows i've watched on it. All the times i've fallen asleep with it on. I used to use it as my alarm clock and one time I ended up in the hospital for a week. I got home and realized it had been on since the day after I went in. Up until about 5 years ago, it was my only TV. Damn fine TV, unfortunately, I don't think GE makes TV's anymore.
  • The hands down best CRT for gaming is the Sony Wega. You can lock this up now.
  • Open the cart, and just insert the PCB into the genesis. A crack in a game cart will not prevent it from working. Opening up the cart, the reason that it doesn't work might even show itself.
  • I have heard great things about the Sony trinitron. Due to space limitations I have to use my main TV (LG LCD) for gaming as well. But once I have the room I have a nice Zenith from the early 90's I intend to use.

Interesting note, Bart's Nightmare (SNES) is the only cart I couldn't get to work no matter what I did with it.
  • I have a 24 inch Sony WEGA KV-24FS100, it's pretty nice but heavy as all heck. Has front and back AV inputs, 1 SVIDEO and a set of component as well. Plays all my older consoles fine and lightguns work.
  • 24" Toshiba TV here. no problems for the last 9 years. 1 component, 2 AV, 1 svideo and rf cable as usual. very nice, love it. lets say it had its share of video gaming heh
