Believe it or not, I actually played retro games tonight!
Tonight I was sitting around at the lady's house while she was working on a project for school, and I was kinda bored. I had just recently made a CL pickup for a Saturn with a bunch of games.
Light bulb went off - why not actually try playing some games? I cranked up some Virtua Cop, Daytona USA, and Road Rash.
IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!
But now I'm kinda upset because I want to start pulling some inventory so I can play. Greed is not good.

EDIT TO ADD
You dont play video games ? or you just play newer games like wii ps3 and Xbox and maybe some PC
or do you 100% resale only ?
I just like to collect, and like to make money on the stuff I buy that I don't want on my shelves.

I really, really, really suck at games. They frustrate me, and my time available to game is very limited.

ok , ok
i already can see it , your hands still want to go back and control that system
shit i can feel it here and i never even played a Satern before
if you have the time one day in the future try Eternal Darkness For GameCube
Now Back to the topic , Dont leave the NES out , next deal you make on a nes try it out or bad things will happen
Actually playing them = devine
I go through waves myself. Sometimes I'll be in full blown collector / reseller ADD mode and listing / selling stuff as fast as I can. Or selling filler out of the collection to make room for new stuff.
Then I may slow down drastically when I pick up a good game. I'm playing Chrono Trigger on SNES right now and haven't listed anything FS in a week. No coincidence... I would just rather spend free time gaming than selling right now. As you said, you only have so much free time when there's a lady in the picture.
Everyone has their nominees for a good / fun / easy game to play, but I'd highly recommend Super Mario RPG on SNES. That game has something for everyone, and I'm pretty sure even you could beat it (no offense ).
Take time to stop and smell the roses as they say. It's easy to get stuck in a grind trying to maximize your net worth, but all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
Add to that, I'm a very impatient and easily frustrated person when it comes to games. I scream and yell and swear at the TV or handheld fairly often. I'm even horrified by some of the things I say to Kid Icarus.
And yeah, we had some games as kids. I think I've mentioned it before, but we grew up VERY poor (welfare, food stamps, you name it). Poor to the point that I had to use my paper route savings to help pay for my Great Aunt's funeral at age 12. So, now that I'm doing OK for myself, it's a big rush for me to have the things I wanted so badly as a child but would never even dream of asking my mom to buy. Oakleys, Jordans, Neo Geo, etc. My mom is probably still paying off the debt from buying our NES/SNES/Genesis stuff on credit.
My best friend was much more well-off, so we would play games at his house. Chrono Trigger being our all-time favorite (still is). We played mostly sports & wrestling games, though. Not exactly collector du jour
You're right Jone, it's very hard to get out of "how much can I put in the bank this month" mode, or "which rare game can I find today" mode, and get into "holy fuck I have some awesome games here, I should play one" mode.
I think I have a couple copies of Mario RPG floating around here - I'll give that one a shot!
I can barely get at my consoles much these days due to the job, wife, and baby, and other bs that comes up. Handhelds though, that I can find a lot more time on whether riding in a car or something, in bed before flipping out the light, or wherever else as you can keep it in your pocket. Since you love the SNES though, well, the closest recommendation I can give there is get a hacked PSP with a nice couple gig memory card for it and throw an SNES emulator on it and play what you enjoy. Emulators have save states so even if the game won't do it, or not when you need, you can hit a button or two and just lock it in place until you come back.

He said "barely". Kind of like legal pooter. 18 is "barely" legal.
I kid, I kid. It's 16 here. So a Saturn is retro for sure.

The Saturn's an awesome system, but I also don't consider it retro. I consider the cut-off point, the N64/PS1 era where games started to be primarily 3D. To me, everything 4th gen and older is retro. Just my opinion. 2D is the old school classic games, while the early beginning of 3D is the start of the modern era.
N64 isnt retro? I first read what you said as ps1 is retro to you... I was about to say whaaaa??? because saturn is that era too but I see what your saying now. It really depends on how old you are but I view the PS2/dreamcast/gamecube/xbox era as the newer era. I was born mid 80s to give you a frame of reference.
Sorry, I played games that are out of print on a console that is no longer manufactured or supported. Is that better?

This seriously turned into a semantics debate on what is retro? I don't see how any of that debate serves any purpose whatsoever.
