Any R.B.I. Baseball lovers?

I've been revisiting the original game and boy does it still rock after all these years! I loved it as a kid and it still brings the fun- especially the Famicom ("sorta") sequel to the original, Pro Yakyuu Famista '88, which allows you to dive for the ball and gives you the option to choose different stadiums.  Anybody else play this during the summer after playing baseball in little league?

  • For sure, the sports titles are some of my faves, and they hold up after all these years, had no idea about the Famicom sequel.

    I love these games:

    RBI

    Tecmo Super Bowl

    Blades of Steel

Pro Sports Hockey (didn't discover this one until a couple years ago)
  • RBI is the only baseball game I play! I think RBI 3 is my favorite, thanks to the improved fielding abilities (mainly the ability to leap for balls), though I must admit I haven't played number 2. RBI 1 was one of the very first games me and my brother saved up for as kids. I think we bought ours for 20 bucks at the local drug store. I can't figure out where the original box went, as we had most of them tacked up on our bedroom wall
  • You could say that I'm a fan.
  • Dwight Gooden rocks

That was great , i have seen that one before. It really is very well done.

  • I grew up with RBI Baseball 2. The computer is a cheating bastard but I love it anyway.
  • Ill be honest, I just popped this in and played for the first time the other day. Pretty damn good.

Awesome.  It does my heart good to hear that nostalgia isn't necessary to enjoy this classic.  Of course, it doesn't hurt, either.
  • RBI is awesome, and Bret Sabrehagen (sp.) throws a wicked sidearm.
  • I like RBI.  Still do a Double Elimination  tournament every year in October with the same 8 guys.  This year will be our 9th or 10th year.

Everytime I get a glitch I take a picture.  Here are a few:
  • Baseball Stars FTW when it comes to NES. The only RBI I really played was RBI 94 on Genesis.
  • I've been more of a Bad News Baseball kind of guy

I didn't get into it enough to try out different teams or anything, but it's fun to just pick up and play casually once in a while.
  • R.B.I. Baseball has provided me with hundreds of hours of entertainment. My uncle and I used to battle it out endlessly when I was a kid. I'm a Mets guy, so I loved that team, because you had the Doctor throwing gas on the mound, Strawberry hitting it out of the stadium, and Mookie Wilson running wild. Ah the good old days...
  • I see no one has mentioned this, so in case your unaware of it. Here's a link.

  • There is a website that you can edit and save the rom to play on emulators. they have lots of edits other people have made too. and the interface is so simple to use anyone can make their own rom. Check it out:

  • Don't forget to wait for the first baseman to cover the bag before throwing it to him.

  • R.B.I Baseball 3 was my childhood NES baseball game. Which was followed by R.B.I 93 on the Genesis.

Here's a random story. I used to play whiffle ball with my friends and we'd always bring the R.B.I 3 NES instruction booklet out with us. Seems funny now but we were intend on pretending to be the real players and I believe that instruction booklet had the roasters for all the teams.
