new to na, not new to ninty

hey all,

new to the site. i've been gaming since i was old enough to hold an intellivision controller in '85, our family got our nes shortly thereafter, and the rest is a history of digital triumphs and pixel-induced euphoria.

i was led to na through a search i was doing trying to find a 60-72 pin adapter to play famicom games on an nes. i'm currently living in japan and have ready access to a slew of famicom games via super potato shops nearby, but don't want to plunk down a bunch of cash on a famicom system since i have a toaster at home and i'm not planning on snapping up enough titles to warrant it. my primary goal is to build up to the nes collection i had in the 80's, and hold onto it all for good this time around.

welcome me, i'm ready to get my retro game action on.

If you have any five-screw black box games, there may be a converter inside one of those.
  • yeah, i have a copy of gyromite back home, not sure if it's a 'heavy' cart though, and if it is i don't really wanna sacrifice him for the team, though if it comes down to it i may have to. i'd prefer to find a legit converter with a ribbon if i could. thanks though!!

    great!!

my girlfriend and i are living here for three months. we visited a few years ago and swore we'd come back, so here we are. great food, great people, great gaming shops, and arcades galore.

i visited super potato for the first time and decided i needed to get my old nes collection back, so as soon as i'm back home it's going to be a mission of mine to hit every shop, flea market, and garage sale for good deals!!
  • Welcome!
  • Arcades? I haven't seen one in years. I miss those things.
