Upgrading an old MAME cabinet to Hyperspin
I'm looking into options for upgrading my old MAME cabinet, which has arcade monitor and MSDOS based system. As I really don't have the time and patience to download and configure everything I need to have Hyperspin goodness, I want to pay someone to do it for me.
This person tells me that Hyperspin won't work with an old arcade monitor, that I need a computer monitor. I don't want to throw away my arcade monitor and spend on that. How true is his statement? Can't I solve the issue with a special program that makes the PC to send the apropriate signal to the arcade monitor? I suppose that's the same that my MSDOS system does, but this guy insists that I just can't use Hyperspin with an arcade monitor. I think he just doesn't know how, because he really doesn't bother with that kind of monitors.
Do you think that a better solution would be to use the ArcadeVGA card? http://www.ultimarc.com/avgainf.html
Has someone used it? Can anyone give me their impressions on it?
One last question: do PC lcd displays have the same latency as LCD TVs? I hate that, and that's why I want to keep using my monitor, besides money.

I dont have an arcade monitor myself (I went 50" LCD!), but I have read and heard of the best solutions for mame to be (quoted from Hyperspin forum)..
'When it comes to playing classic arcade games in MAME you'll get the best display from a Tri-sync arcade monitor paired with an AVGA card from Ultimarc.'
And yes, you can get LCD TV's with as low of a responce time as a monitor.
