Gamecube Action Replay -- Heart or Headache?
TLDR: Is the "new," Wii-Compatible Gamecube AR worth a look, or do its earlier versions provide a better experience?
During the past couple of days I've been dinking around Google and checking previous posts trying to look up deets regarding the Cube AR and I've noticed that two versions seem to be available -- the "Wii-compatible" version (until firmware gets updated, anyway), and its predecessor (1.14?), which allowed you to enter your own codes. While the former ballparks $25 new, the few versions I've seen of its earlier version have fetched prices from 80-100 on eBay (eek).
With that said, I'm not really asking from a collector's point-of-view, but more as a "Oh, look at these games I've recently snagged, but have yet to play and I really don't feel like burning extra hours grinding xp/cash/etc" standpoint. Is that extra utility that the early version provides worth the extra bucks (provided it even works; I hear it doesn't work on newer-model Cubes), or should El Cheapo suffice? Or are my facts completely bass-ackwards? Thanks in advance.
