Question about using sharpie marker on carts/boxes.

I'm just getting into collecting games and carts and have seen a few videos about people using sharpies on carts or boxes with worn edges etc. I think I already know the answer, but you shouldn't do this right? Even if the cart/box is pretty worn?

    Well really I don't really care about conditions on carts. Sense I'm going be playing em. But boxes I like to have em in good conditions. But I never scene anyone use sharpies on them before. To me that damaging the value a little.

    Seen it, would never do it. I would rather have a game with worn edges than one that has been sharpied.

    Just checked out the video, figured this was mostly about game boxes, oops. Either way, I wouldn't sharpie them. IMO it makes them look worse and is not helping the value any. Just my two cents.

    Yeah, I wouldn't sharpie it either. it's mostly for people trying to sell online so when they take a pic of the box it looks better on camera. But in reality the excess ink soaks into the cardboard and degrades the box further and will cause it to feather more and more.
