  • That #220 always seems to pop up for sale. I think its a bogus ad.

  • I know it's called the holy grail...but it shouldn't float in the air like that...looks a bit off if you ask me,.but then again I'm on my phone
  • All kinds of stuff wrong with this one. anyone who intentionally uses misspellings ( RRRare ??? ) in the title is suspect and in the description it says championCHIPS not championships the 100 shipping and location in germany are unusual as well
  • 100% fake auction. The account has been dormant for a year. Probably a hacked e-bay account.
  • Instincts tell me it's a fake auction. If it's legit, seller should post more pictures of it from every possible angle, and do so immediately, if he actually wants people to take the auction seriously.

If you do a Google reverse image search, the exact picture he uploaded in the eBay listing isn't found anywhere, so it probably wasn't lifted anywhere from the web. It could be a photoshop of an existing image onto the top of a NES console, or there's a chance that it's real and that he took it himself.
  • Location: Germany

    Shipping to Canada: FREE

Shipping to rest of world: 100$

    lol
  • No luck in the world this is a real NWC. Just a feeling tho.
  • I like how the water mark isn't even on the damn cart! hahaha
  • this is way too clean of a NWC to be real... Exactly, no water marks, no glue marks, no fading... Can anyone confirm the 220 from the person he says he bought it from ? Not sure if anyone has posted this yet but here is the REAL posting.. Its up again!!!

    destroy this person!
  • Poor kids are already bidding on it, sigh...
  • There are shadows on both sides of the cartridge. looks like a good photoshop to me. i bet whoever wins will get the control deck with a sticker of the nwc cart on the top

Ho, now shipping to Canada is 100$, pretty funny.
  • Has anyone reported this to e-bay the bidding is up to over $2,000 now.

    Yep, I do.

  • This is up to 5100 dollars already wonder if anyone is actually thinking they are bidding on a legit cart or if the bids are just being driven up by the seller
  • Some good Photoshop work, but to note that the game and the consoles are two different images simply because how flat the game sits and how round the sides are on the NES due to having 2 different lenses to each image.

    For instance:

Green line is curvy, red line is mostly straight.

  • Hello I'm new here ^_^ yea I noticed this auction too and was bidding on it but was careful not to allow myself to be the high bidder. I heard about this site and how you guys might be looking into this and I was sure you'd be on it! General consensus is it's fake, huh?

Anyways, he relisted it again and already it's up to $2025 as of this post.

I suppose I could ask them to take more photos but I'm sure many of you have already done so. If anyone knows the history behind cart 0220 that would be very enlightening.
  • Any veterans around to confirm if this is fake or not?

Common sense tells me this is fake.

If one has an item worth quite literally $10k+ and wants to get the best price for it, it's ludicrous to me that you would post one very iffy picture of it. For example, he says it 'works'. Showing it installed in a toploader with the image on the screen, showing the view from the edge label, showing the contacts, showing the rear casing, all of that would help raise the value in terms of gaining confidence of elite buyers and the community at large. All of this is obvious, so the single crappy image is pretty worrying. It's probable that the eventual winner will get either :

    (1)- A clone/fake, possibly very well made.

    or

    (2)- Some form of nothing.

It would behoove anyone considering this to request additional photos (links to high-resolution originals would be preferred, an accompanying 720p or better short video would be good as well), and to have the cart disassembled and confirmed immediately upon receipt by a qualified member of the community.

  • I would so karate fight someone for a Nintendo World Championships, blood sport style.
  • I think Bouncy's picture pretty much proves this one is not legit.

I should have thought of that. I could have saved a fortune!

I don't have a fortune so it's my only choice. Now I need to head to Thailand to start kicking trees and playing Karate Champ to be prepared.

I don't have a fortune anymore either, but at least I have my gray NWC owner icon!
  • Wow isn't this the third time it's been relisted?
  • Maybe it's just me, but in the second picture, the top of the cart looks almost wavy and doesn't line up even with the bottom. The label also looks really dirty in that picture where in the first one it looks bright white.
  • I wanted to bid a dollar on it just to see if it's real or not, but then I realized that somebody beat me to the punch. Well, I tried to try.
