    Whaha that's just plain cruel
  • seems I'm reviving this thread.

Non of my real life friends really play games that much most consider it a waste of money, but like stated earlier they spend 100

  • just tell them how much your collection is worth and how easy you can sell it.. they'll drop their jaws

well my collection isn't anything special yet.
  • My collection is not very big (yet) will post up some pics as soon as i finish unpacking i promise
as for friends and family well my family thinks that a 32 year old man has better things to do with his money ( in short they think its dumb)
my wife does what most wives do and just rolls her eyes and says " what ever makes you happy dear" and thats why i love her (and she cant complain to much she purchased my last 3 consoles for me anyway)
    My kids think i rock
My friends also think its a waiste of time and money they woulkd rather drink and smoke (but that dose not stop them from coming over and playing my waiste of time and money )
Me i enjoy it i love playing games i enjot the collecting side of it learning from all the people on this forum anout stuff i dont know so thanks

  • well I've run into ppl who think that collecting games is a waste of money, but they think collecting stamps coins or comics isn't a waste of time and money

  • My wife doesn't mind. She basically says there are worse things to spend money on

  • They also dont understand my comic collection or my lego so im not fussed it makes me happy i spend time with the kids so boo on those who dont like it

  • me friends think i'm stupid but they can't avoid to be pretty impressed when they visit me. also my snk candy cab is an attraction for like every friend i know. my parents think that i should spend my money on something other than toys..

pong btw is an awesome game on ps1, i really hate pong but that remake is just awesome, i think there are 3levels left on the hardest difficulty then we have completed it.

damned i want a yaroze, but dunno which version i should go for, the sdk is easy to get but an original version would be way sweeter and the dongle thingie you'r talking about?

that pong remake was great on the PC but imho sucks BALLS on the PS1.. the level where you have to hit the clowns in the mouth is SOOOO badly done.. it's so frustrating!
  • I have an office in my basement. This is my office. What fits in my office gets to stay.

I refer to this as the "geek-o-sphere".

Within the Geek-o-sphere I have my many collections: stamps, 1:400 scale airplanes, geocoins, TinTin cars, MANY comics, movies, astronomy equipment and ... video games.

Outside of the geek-o-sphere is my wife's domain.

(there is also an area near my office - the "overflow-is-sphere" - mostly this is for books, comics and items I can place in boxes and look nice. If bad things happen, I this area may get re-claimed! Then I am sunk. I also snuck some video games into a TV cabinet... yet to be "discovered" - out of sight, out of mind

    Sadly....

I go through "phases" and normally try to really focus each collection. For example, I only collect Canadian and BNA stamps - these don't take up a lot of space. Same with my planes - I only collect Canadian commercial airlines. By far, the comics are the biggest space consumers.

I hear that i had to downsize my comic collection but i still have about 15 of those comic boxes full and more still to be bagged and boarded then boxed up (about another 4 boxes worth)

    some do
    image

It's a pretty grainy picture, but this is just a couple shelves of my hardcover and slipcased LE's (and there are some figures too)
  • lol cool, wasn't aware of that
but are they as big as the bioshock 2 box?

Not much is 'that' big, because it would involve enlarging the comic art and that doesn't always go over well. However those Sandman hardbound volumes are wider and almost as tall. If he has the hardbound Calvin & Hobbes stuff, thats got a bigger footprint than the Bioshock 2 LE as well.
  • I have always been drawn to comics.. when i see them at a flea market I always doubt wether i should buy them or not

I haven't bought them.. but seeing those old spiderman / transformer comics makes me wanna go collect them aswel

haha! Is ANYthing as big as the Bioshock2 box?
I was lucky that a friend of mine is an audiophile and was able to record the LP for me to listen to. My turntable is long gone.
  • Yeah.. None of my friends like anything about it haha. Alot of my friends drink and shit. Go to parties. I Work alot. The time I don't work, I spend it at home relalxing with my family and girlfriend, running, gaming, etc.. No one likes it. My family thinks I need to be saving every penny i get. My friends think i waste money on it, asnd have no interest in it. My girlfried likes it though. She supports me and likes to play my games with me. It's pretty much my own thing.

My friends do like my star wars arcade and my autographs though
