  • Ach well I officially foreswore yard-saleing after last weekend but maybe I can give it one more go...
  • I do pretty good at the flea markets around here but I stop at 5-10 yard sales every Saturday and dont ever find any video games, let alone NES stuff.
  • But I don't celebrate Memorial Day!
  • lol,

TIP #1 If you stop at a yard sale and you dont see anything. IT NEVER HURTS TO ASK, i have scored some of the BEST deals because i asked them if they had any video game stuff. i remeber i scored like 20 CIB nes games for .75 cents each last summer because i asked them if they had any video game stuff. And then she was like, ,,,, "hmmmmmm we might, went in he house and brought out a big box out of her sons closet" I remeber i got marios time machine cib minty, final fantasy, solstice, hydlide, and about 20 other games, nes system, all for $19.00. Then i also got a snes system, from her, games and like 25 boxes. Great deal that i would have never got, unless i asked them. I also remebering being at like 30 other yard sales and the same thing happened. Sometimes people have it but dont bring it out. My classic line is

"Excuse you wouldnt happen to have any video game stuff would ya???"

    Works everytime :-)
  • My problem with yard sales is this...

I'll be driving down the street, see a sale... then I'll SLOW DOWN in my car have a quick peek and then keep driving... I have no idea why I do this, and I hate myself for doing it! I never wanna get out and have a look... Guess I just hate people!
  • I am getting up early on Sat and Sun to drive to a few different flea markets that are several hours away in hopes of finding some new loot. I haven't been to them in years and they are kinda in the middle of no where. I may hit some yard sales up on Friday if I don't have to work.

  • my best finds were at yard sales including a mint boxed top loader for 2.00 dollars
  • Well I'm first to weigh in I guess. I quit around 11am when traffic started to get atrocious.

I got a Power Pad for free, was just sitting on the curb next to a couple of old strimmers. And I found this super-sweet lunchbox:

No other games at any yard sales, asked at every one...but I did stop by a local game store to dig in the bargain bin and took advantage of the 3 for $10 deal:

    Dig Dug II mint loose

    Mortal Kombat Gold (dreamcast) loose

and Marvel vs Capcom 2 (dreamcast) loost

so that made the day worth the gasoline at least image Hope the rest of you fared better?
  • i didnt find anything around here there werent hardly any yard sales

ditto here; I saw one sale on my way home...the only thing I picked up was a VHS copy of the original Dawn of the Dead for .25$
  • I just got home from 2 fleas. I got a SNES with 1 controller, SMB/DH, and a 5 screw 3-D Worldrunner for 12.50.

Then I got a NES, all the hookups, 2 controllers, and a NES max controller for 10. Not a great day, especially since I drove an hour and a half to get there.

BTW--I talked to Dain on the phone while he was flea marketing, he is a lucky prick...bastard.

  • Yeah, today was a GOOD day at the flea market. We drove to Asheville, NC (I'm writing this from my hotel room!) and on the way we found a flea market in the middle of no-where-ville. I got the following boxed/CIB for $25:

    Stunt Kids

    Tecmo Cup Soccer

    Frankenstein

    Ninja Kid (5 screw/hangtab)

    Joshua

    Crash n' the Boys

I was pretty happy! The guy had another 200+ boxed/cib games, but I may go back and buy them all. He said he'd sell me all of them for $4 each if I bought them all. I think I can get him down to $3 each if I wave cash in front of his face image

  • I'll be first to chime in for today; I went to 1 garage sale and the local flea market...there are very few yard sales around here for some reason lately.  I bought the following this morning at the flea market:

    Mario Party 3 [N64]: 1.50
    Cruis'n USA [N64]: 1.50
Nothing Can Stop Mr. Domino CIB [PS1]: 5.00
Super Puzzle Fighter CIB [PS1]: 5.00
  • I hit up a flea market today. Picked up Donkey Kong Country 2, Super Mario World, and Rush 2049. Nothin' else there!
  • I went agian today to the flea market..Im telling you video games are getting really scarce in the wild. Yard sales are about the only place to get a good score but that said you need to be one of the first ones there. flea markets are loaded with resellers waiting in groups to buy up everything.
  • Well not exactly yard sale but ParPunk check your email... I found 171 things on your NES need list. Total cost worked out to about $1.01 an item including the box and book for Kickle Cubicle. Hope you enjoy the list of what I found for you!

:-) I look forward to hearing from you.
