Geoff's Playstation Shmup Collection
Going to post some photos for you to take a look at on here initially of my Japanese Playstation (PSP, PS1, 2, 3) shmup collection.
Sorry but the posting is going to be a bit sporadic as there's a lot to show!
I might get around to my PAL shmup aquisitions and other Japanese games at some point too.

I know mate, that preorder balloon is about the silliest thing I've seen added to a game, mind you the tea cup you got with the preorder of Cotton 2 on the Saturn was even more daft!!

Aw thanks mate, I'm going to stick another game up tonight. It's not as mad as this limited edition but still interesting for other reasons! Glad you liked the pictures it makes posting them all the more worthwhile. The genre does seem to be alive and well on the 360, hopefully we'll see some kind of transfer of some of those Cave games over to the PS3.

So when are you gonna get that Harmful Park for the PS1?
I know at least two guys who love shmups from my country. One is Johnny. The other one is someone who's been collecting those for a long time, but his collection is rather small because he doesn't have much cash.
Do you happen to have a list of the PAL shmups you own or something like that? I know there are quite a few I'm missing mainly because I don't know them but I'd love to learn more about them. One day I'll move to imports (not shmups in particular) but my top priority is to finish my wishlists for the PAL games for each system. None is complete yet .
My very first game was a shmup actualy, when I was 5. It was for spectrum and I have never found out which game was.
Another fine set of pics, Geoff. You da man for PS2 Jap shmups. I don't have any import PS2 shmups - nor do I have any of the 360 imports (the only reason for that is I can't afford a Japanese 360.)
If you have a general interest in Jap shmups then you might be interested to know that i have a fairly big collection of older ones primarily on the Saturn and PC Engine CD.

I've secured Harmful Park for a really good price, the guy that's selling to me is doing me a quote for another bunch of shmups but it's taking some time. To be honest I'm at the point of pulling out because it's taking too long He is a really good guy just incredibly busy!![/color:wvrbqk8q]

No just the board, my wallet will never stretch to full Cave kits. I have DS and Akai boards so, would love an old Cave board, as they're getting rarer and rarer, after than i'm going to be putting my monies into a SNK cab, one of the rarer ones hoepfully

Yeah, i've got a lot of money waiting for the right cab. I nearly bought a Mushi board last night, but have only just got my teeth into dodonpachi(came through yesterday).

Awesome thread Geoff! Keep posting shmup stuff, love reading about these games. I too have DOJ and Galuda for the PS2 and a lot of PAL stuff. Arika did such a good job with those Cave ports. Now I've been mainly focusing on the 360 Cave releases, really excited for DFK PAL!
