Let's see some non-video game related collections

Sorry if a similar topic already exists. Aside from video games and game consoles, do any of you collect anything else? I have a pretty massive collection of Transformers ranging from Generation 1 to Dark of the Moon. I also have a modest collection of Masters of the Universe including the European-exclusive Snake Armor He-Man.

So outside of my gaming I have collected a few other things varying from hats, t-shirts, shoes, and belt which never had a lasting appeal to me. However I have fallen in love with vinyl and feel about it as I feel about my PS collection due to the fact that music just hold a dear place in my heart.

So here's what I built up on my vinyl since I started collecting last April on "Record Store Day."

I've got a half-decent collection of Blu-Ray film steelbooks . . .ALL of which have been bought used, mostly for under £12. If anybody's interested in seeing some pics i will take 'em.
  • I'd be interested in seeing your steelbook collection.

  • Okay, mate. I'll take some pics over the weekend :geek:

    cheers mate
yeah some strange and weird stuff
but i got only 1 steelbook and Not 1 Blu-Ray
the steelbook is The Iron Fist Tournament Tekken The Movie
not a very good movie imho
i also have the manga Tekken but i excpected more, especially for a manga flick

steelbooks are harder to put in place they don't seem to fit in anywhere

    i started buying dvd's 9 or 10 years ago
the 8 doubles i had where movies i have in a trilogy or in a pack

but definitly i would like to see your steelbook & Blu-Ray collection aswell
  • Okay guys and gals. Here are the pics in alphabetical order. As I said most of these were picked up used at CEX and all bar one were £12 or under - a couple as cheap as £5.

I think I've just been particularly lucky and just been in the right place at the right time because you don't see used Bluray steelbooks THAT often.

The Wolfman was bought new and my particular favourite, Captain America, cost £15 but I just had to have it.

Also . . .is Angelina Jolie gorgeous, or what :?:

No . . .strangely, I've never come across it. Love the film so would snap it up no bother.

The other two I really would like but have never seen are the Gladiator and Star Trek steelbooks.

The only ones I've seen used but didn't buy for various reasons are Green Lantern, The Adjustment Bureau, Green Zone, Cars 2, Machete and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

Apart from that, I've seen quite a few of the newer ones in HMV at full price. I just wish they'd done the Sucker Punch steelbook that the Germans got
  • I see various blu ray steelbooks in my HMV so if your on the look out for any let me know although I don't go in very often.

  • there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the conditions of these steelbooks
are you sure you bought them used
maybe my eyes are deceiving me but those look brand new

AKIRA!!! now that's a cool flick.. manga at its best

and that Green Hornet one is it the movie or the series starring Bruce Lee?

    Angelina Jolie looks stunning!
mostly my eyes are always on her Boobs, but she's got a pretty face aswel i just noticed
but they could've left the rated 15 at the bottom left out
why do they always mess up the cover?
don't you just hate it when they do that
it's like they're trying to censor the pussy area

  • I like collecting old army/war memorabilia. I don't have a whole lot, but maybe I'll post pics later. My coolest item by far is an old 'nam crate that once held rifle mounted grenades. It's big and heavy and wood and has warning like "DO NOT DROP GRENADES" on it.

Yeah, I've been really lucky with condition but, believe it or not, they are all second-hand apart from Wolfman which i bought new from HMV in a "2 for £15" sale.

Purist collectors might point out that some of them are missing the wraparound cover thingy that comes with most steelbooks. I have a few of those but i didn't bother to photograph them. I'm only interested in the steelbook itself.

The Final Destination 5 has a coupla small dents but CEX only seem to take them in if they're in decent condition. The Robin Hood one even has the collectors booklet as does the Akira. The Akira box does look damaged but the blemish on the front and back is actually part of the artwork.

The Green Hornet is the recent movie and i think it's my second favourite. Angelina on the Salt cover comes third . . .yummo

That used to be a hobby of mine when I was a younger man living in London. We had a big market called Petticoat Lane that used to have a lot of stalls specialising in, mainly, World War II memorabilia.

I became particularly interested in the German World War II cap badges and insignia because they always looked more aesthetically pleasing than the allied ones. Sadly i sold them all many years ago.

I do, however, have a very large collection of badges from the sport of Speedway which i have kept. I have one for every team that has existed since the 1960s.
