Are CIB NEs Games Selling for Crap?
I kinda thought there was like big price increases lately for cib nes games, but ive been searching around on ebay, and unless its like a black box game, or an odd game. the rest of CIB NES Games are selling for crap? For example, i see a CIB LOLO for starting bid of $1.00, and like $3.50 shipping an no bids lol? And like a mint CIB mega man just went for like $30.00 (i remeber it going for $50.00), umm some other odd no sellers ive seen that are still on ebay are factory sealed spiderman $25.00?? and then there is also a mint CIB lolo3 that has sat on there for days at a BIN of like $36.00? And the weird thing is i saw a CIB Zelda at $40.00? lol Man Ebay is weird sometimes, im not really complaining because i still need to buy up some more of these "used to sell for big money" CIB games. But its gonna suck for buying lots and reselling. i dunno know anyone else see anything weird?

1) Random common CIB's have never done great in single auctions. With shipping prices relativily high for a single game, cheaper CIB's don't sell because after shipping they're not worth buying.
2)More and more collectors seam to be going the "buy the big lot and sell the spares off" route. leading to an over aboundance or common CIB's around because peices of the big lots are constantly being relisted.
3)We're reaching a saturation point. for the past 5-6 years especially, NES collectiong has been getting more and more expensive, lending to the idea that there were more and more NES collectors. Perhaps we're reaching a point where the supply of the cheaper stuff has actually equalized with the number of new collectors, leading to stagnation or even deflation with more common CIB's.
Look at atari 2600 collecting, very few auctions are NR auctions. many of the common, bad, or cheaper games won't sell for anyhting worth listing. rather you see a lot of set price auctions. I would expect to see the same for NES as the collector base becomes more stable. If 2600 is any type of indicator, it shows that the Mid-tier and extremly rare games should skyrocket boxed, while loose rares and mid-tier on down should devalue to cheaper range.

BTW, we're getting VERY close with the collection tool, so I hope you're keeping good notes on all the stuff you've found. It's going to take a handful of very diehard variations collectors to fill in this stuff. Hope you're up for it! (evil laugh)

if someone is wanting to make some good money buying and selling n64 is the way to go. Ive almost complete my collection in a matter of a couple months. and by buying and selling ive pretty much got my whole collection for free. mario stuff n64 mario games are selling for 10.00 to 30.00 dollars every time.
This seems to be the time for N64 stuff in general...maybe not the right time of year, but as with Atari 2600 and NES, and a year or two ago it started with the SNES as well, a disparity trend has come about. I've seen more common N64 games going for less and less, while the rarer ones seem to be holding their ground, or in some cases (Clayfighter Sculptor's Cut, especially CIB, as well as International Superstar Soccer 2000) increasing in value. wrldstrman, in my honest opinion, you couldn't have picked a better time to start an N64 collection. Sit back for the next 5 years and watch ISS 2000 climb to $50-$60 loose and possibly as much as $150 complete (and watch me kick myself for selling my CIB copy for $62 some time ago!).
Back on topic, I believe the lower common NES game prices are nothing more than a seasonal lull, strengthened by rising inflation and the slowly degenerating economy (though I think I've seen some of the rarer titles actually pull a slight increase in price lately...?).
