Paypal Change I just got notified about
Well, this kinda sucks, cause I guarantee some newb is gonna pay with an echeck and a seller will have to wait 10 days for it to clear and stupid negatives will insue
In the past, eBay allowed sellers to block eCheck payments in order
to reduce confusion over clearing time and potential shipping delays.
Significant improvements have been made in addressing buyer
expectations about eChecks, including information about eChecks added
to eBay checkout, transaction details, and email communications.
With these improvements, eBay sellers offering PayPal must now
accept all forms of PayPal payment, and are no longer allowed to block
eChecks. Sellers still have the ability to block eChecks on non-eBay
related checkout.

honestly, what is the benefit for someone using an echeck? what is the difference from that and having it directly taken from your bank acct?
I think some people feel uncomfortable at first linking their bank account with an online service; I know I did at first...
Which is funny because the echeck needs an account to be linked to in the first place. There is no real benefit where paypal is concerned. In the real world echecks are free and automaticaly take the money out of your account when the check is sent, so it's easier to balance.
Paypal gets to float your money for a ton of extra time. The bank only takes a couple of days, but the average e-Check won't clear for a week.
