Got a Famicom game today and a dilemma
I posted a similar topic at NES World, but I thought I'd share here. I got the game in and it's wrapped and everything. I was mainly led to believe that this was just a very very nice copy. I had no idea it was going to be sealed. The price seemed to low for that.
The thing is, the photo didn't show a seal and actually, he has another copy up with the same photo and claims it to be "brand new" just like the one I have, so I'm guessing he lists them regularly.
I don't own a Famicom nor have the means to play this, but I just wanted the game for collection purposes and always wanted to see what a Famicom game looked like. Should I open it up to peek inside or will that get a blunder?

If I open it, I'd of course keep it in good storage. I keep all my loose boxes in a big box and they'll be fine in there. I'd probably leave this game in its box.
I don't intend to get a lot of Famicom games. I mainly want Rockman 2, 3, Lolo 1, and Lolo 2 all CIB. I'd love to get an actual Famicom unit as well. I got the Disk System version of Eggerland recently too.
I don't know. I think I may just keep it sealed as I don't have any sealed games and in reality, I wanted to have at least one. Although I kinda wanted something mildly popular like Ice Hockey or Abadox or something. Not a Famicom one.

It'll sit in a drawer sealed for the time being.
I didn't think famicom games were shrinkwrapped. Maybe some of them were, but I was led to believe that brand new famicom games were NOT sealed in any way. I have a definite brand new copy of Running Stadium and it's not sealed at all.
You are correct. Famicom games, when sold new, were not factory wrapped. Crack the plastic open, if you want...if it's truly new, it won't affect the value
I'm not doubting you folks or anything, I just want to absolutely verify this before I take any action.
I'll open it up later tonight.

Maybe I should fill out that one form and mail it to Capcom of Japan.
