still thats asking him over half off on his price. Sosafan is not going to change prices based on a recent trend, if id call one posting a trend. he is a reputable seller that has his BINs set for what he wants for them and near current retail premium value. You have to understand who you are trying to get a deal from. He is a biggg seller. That cart is 15-20 easy. And you coming in at less than half gave him little reason to want to try and make a deal.
Well said. A small time guy might be willing to take a hit to liquidate a bunch of commons, but a powerseller has to worry about keeping all their "good items" in stock. If they sell that Road Rash 64 at a discount, they might miss out on a more lucrative sale or trade-in.
exact same reason why i bought an earthbound at a shop i visited recently. I got it for 120 so good deal but not like a steal. I posted it high so I can get the attention it brings. Itll sell around christmas probably. I will make good money on it and get attention for having it on there.
At gamestop, I'm buying up a lot of PS2 games for a cheap price. I brought my games to the checkout counter and the employee looked at my games and saw 2 castlevania games (lament of innocence and curse of darkness) and said, "Castlevania is my all time favorite series, Symphony of the Night is the best one ever!". I said it was a good game, but the classic NES games are where it's at. He looked at me funny as if he had never heard of the NES before...
well ebay effed me today.... a guy at the end of july buys 17 snes games off of me for 522 dollars. Another seller august 9th sent me a message warning me of the buyer saying he opened 13 cases of items not working. My buyer hadnt done that yet so I took note of it. the buyer then 40 days after purchase opens cases on a majority of my games. all the expensive ones of course. saying none of them work. just like the seller said he would. well paypal goes ahead and freezes all my funds. all 522 dollars sending my paypal in the negative even though he opened 8 cases and not 17 paypal wont fix it, ebay cant do anything even though the other seller got his cases taken off his account after some hassle. the guy never shipped thats guys stuff and just tied his money up. Ebay wont do anything against this 4 feedback member. They back that guy more than my over 3000 feedback.

Shit man, this is why I try to avoid ebay. That seriously sucks.
Shame you can't threaten ebay with a lawyer or something. They shouldn't have the right to freeze uncontested assets. I get the part where you do have them in a lock due to that lying scumbag thief who has been hosing people(or trying to) but to lock everything seems illegal to me.

What a shitty situtation. It's getting to the point after hearing some of these stories where I am seriously consider taking photos/video of the games playing and even a photo of the package before it's mailed (not that it would help ). I've had a few close calls like that before myself.
Wow - that is terrible. Another case of someone using the system to steal. Buyers have 45 days to open a case - he clearly waited until the very last minute. Did he contact you first before opening the case? eBay instructs you as a buyer to try to resolve issues with the seller BEFORE opening a case. If he didn't do so - point this out to eBAY as it may help your case. The fact that he's done this before may also help your case. I am fuming just thinking about this person, and it doesn't even involve me.
I will be rich the day I invent the item that allows you to punch somebody in the face over the internet.
Fn sucks man. Sounds like the guy has a racket going on. Cant you Email paypal or ebay and tell them to check the guy's history? I mean if he does it a lot there has to be some record of it. I just cant imagine someone with a history of dozens upon dozens of cases against multiple people not making the powers to be take notice of a fraud scam going on.

I have over and over. They dont care. They hung up on me.
I think I'm being lied to. I bought a Game Boy Advance SP with a few games from a seller today for $32 shipped. Get a message this evening saying the item was stolen three days ago and he wants me to cancel the sale. I told him he should be the one to initiate the cancelled sale since it was stolen, that way I will make sure to get my money back. I'm asking myself why didn't he end the sale three days ago if that is when it was stolen? I think he is just mad it didnt sell for more and will relist it sometime later on.
so last week i was dealing with an ebay buyer who was trying to pull the ole address switcheroo on a $200 lot. Keep in mind they are a new zero feedback user. I tried to play it politically and cancel the transaction and said as soon as the new address is confirmed I can start a new transaction. I also refunded their money in paypal. Needless to say they declined the cancellation costing me $20 in ebay fees.
Fast forward to today I just got off the phone with ebay support and they said that even if the person declines if I try to make a reasonable effort with them in two weeks they will credit those fees. But the catch is (and the rep tells me flat out), that with possbiel scammers like this even if they don't go through with the transaction that they will probably hit me with negative feedback and there is nothing ebay can do unless it breaks one of their rules.
10+ years on ebay 500+ transactions and never negative feedback all to be undone by some new scam artist. Really makes me feel like ebay is against the sellers.
About a month ago I sold a TI-85 graphing calculator, just now received a neutral feedback saying it was "old and didn't look like the picture." Seriously?
Thought my pictures were pretty clear...and TI-85's aren't exactly new calculators. Regardless though, had he/she messaged me with an issue I would have gladly refunded. Rather not even message the person at this point, *shrug*
Not being able to change the shipping cost on Amazon for anything game related makes me want to rip my face off. It costs more than 3.99 to ship ANYTHING.

what are you shipping that costs more than $4? loose carts or newer gen games in dvd cases can go usps first class for $2.50 or less.

You can put your item in the collectable section too, if you want to have better visibility against the sellers who price suicidally-low.
What's up with ebay? I haven't in maybe a week searched on it in the game area but the whole choice of picking which systems you want to rifle through is gone. At the top are a few lousy icons but only has like the top 5 or so most popular system searches. What is this bs? I was trying to poke around the SNES and GBA stuff and it's missing.
I've been having problems where 1 out of every 3 items I sell wont get payed for. Item cases were a rarity for me a few years back but its becoming so common now it is ridiculous.
Same here, I had like 3 watchers on one item, sold that day by someone with 0% feedback....sat there, no communication, nothing. I almost wanna say other sellers are using separate accounts to "buy out" the competition so their lowest price thing shows up....but then that would show it went for cheaper...so I dunno
nope just idiots buying stuff and not paying or not paying attention because they dont log on ebay that much. So many non payers this year its stupid. I have atleast 4-5 a week.
Forgot to switch back to requiring immediate payment after putting up an auction for once rather than a BIN. As a result, I sold one damn thing and the person hasn't paid...fantastic.

Unless the item sold was a substancial amount and you're incredibly desperate for cash then I don't see the problem with this. Give them a few days to cough up and then open a case if they don't. It's a minor annoyance at most in my opinion.
I won a boxed Power Pad on eBay which arrived today. The seller cleverly managed to keep packing costs down by sending directly in the original box. Grrrr!
