Last poster forum bug?

Not sure if this was fixed or even talked about before, but this is the second time this happened to me. The first time I didn't report it because it soon was fixed so I didn't post it, but I'm posting this little bug this time.

The 'official Seller Silliness thread' for example. I've refreshed the page a bunch of times, cleaned out my temp files, and it still shows that TWarwick07 is the last poster when it's really dewisp02. 



I know it's really not a big deal, but I just wanted to report it anyways. I get this in both FF and IE.

    Happens every once and a while. Not a big deal at all. Definitely not worth the time to shut down the site and waste time trying to find the bug in the code.

    It always fixes itself upon next post.

    I posted and it shows me in both spots now...

    I don't think anyone would have to "shut down the site" to fix that bug.

    Well going by the time stamp, TWarwick07 is the last poster. I think the issue is you are not seeing his post, not that the last poster info is wrong.

    That could be part of the reason there is a discrepancy in the posting

    Yeah, I think that's happened before too. The post kept coming in, but it stopped at dewisp for some reason. Right now, it's fine, it just fixed itself after creating another page.



    I'm not sure, but if it does that again, I'm gonna try to bump the thread and see if it brings out the posts I wasn't seeing. If not, I'll just wait till the next page develops.

    i quoted that last post in your screen grab maybe that has something to do with it. the link was to an e bay store named krazy louies pawn shop or something like that and i tried to make a comical crazy eddie reference

    This is happening again. I just noticed it in the Seller Silliness thread too. The latest posts page shows that SsPpAaMm is the latest poster but when you click on the thread, webb8514 is the last post. I have seen this happen a few times when the current latest post is the first post on a new page. As soon as another post is made they both show as posts on the new page.

    Yep. When I deleted my post on the new page it shows webb8514 as the last post when you are in the thread and not on the latest posts page.

    Thanks for the heads up on this. This would be pretty tough to track down and could be one of many things, but I'll keep my eyes open in case I run across anything that might be causing this. I have a feeling it's a race condition or row locking in the database.

    Just FYI, I have noticed this in several high post threads recently. I just posted in the Seller Silliness thread and since my post would have started a new page it didn't show up. I know it is just my OCD but this really bugs me.



    On the latest posts search, my post was the last in that thread. When you open that thread it shows that catfriedrice is the last poster but of course when another post is made it will correct itself.
