Yard Sale Heaven Version 2.0
So this yard sale was about 45 minutes away and had advertised in one of the local papers that they had “plenty of great stuff for eBayers”. Thinking that I would be wading through legions of people scrambling to buy everything up, I went as early as possible; and found a bunch of old lamps, scrap metal, and one or two Xbox games. I saw that they had one of those huge trailers open at the back of their yard, but being on the extremely shy side didn’t want to “intrude” and ask if there was more stuff for sale. I walked halfway to my car and said “screw it”.
I walked up to the trailer, which had a few people in it by then, and peered through to the back where a Complete-In-Box NES Action Set was sitting at the top of a pile of boxes. I immediately asked the couple running the yard sale about it and the lady said she would be happy to sell it, but that it would take a lot of work to get to. I volunteered to help move boxes, and we began to dig. Literally the second box she hands me is FULL of NES games, “Oh are you looking for games too?” she asks. Over the next hour we find boxes and boxes of old video games and systems, most of which I foolishly ignore because they were not Nintendo related (more on that latter). It was like a magical treasure hunt where every discovery was better than the last! One guy almost walked off with the main part of ROB, until I suggested he also grab the rest of the parts, and he inexplicably just gave it to me and muttered that it was all mine! So when we finally got the Action Set I find ANOTHER smaller boxed system underneath it(the box was eaten through and pooped on by mice and had to be thrown away).

I ended up going back to this yard sale twice to grab everything I wanted, but still didn’t pick up half of the other video game stuff (Doh!). I have since sent them a polite letter asking if I can come back to pick through whatever is left, but haven’t heard back from them yet. Unfortunately, this find has ensured that I will be visiting every yard sale I can for the rest of my life.
Is anyone familiar with a black slip case having red glittery text instead of the typical flat red?

The best part of a good find is the price though! I'm assuming you got a good deal since you posted it.

You left games?! Oh man. Is it just me or does that leave a sick feeling in the pit of anyone elses stomach? Lol. Anyway, great find man!!
Haha, my thoughts exactly when someone says that But I tend to trust the OP's judgment. $27 for all of that though...
Are you kidding me? $27?? Way to go dude. You should be feeling that high for days.
Absolutely sick find.
?!?!?!?!?!?!
Who was running this yard sale? Some 80 year old couple that had no idea what this stuff was worth? Hopefully they'll get back to you and still have some games laying around.

Yeah. I was so focused on the NES stuff that I barely paid any attention to the rest. I do remember them having a bunch of other systems and games, and a few I didn't even recognize. I can only hope and pray that they get back to me, otherwise my shame will rightfully persist for the near futurer...
It was an old couple, yes, and I think they either didn't know or didn't care anymore about what they had.
Oh and to answer your question. Slip cases were black, black with red (Nintendo), and then shiny red (Nintendo.) Later first party Nintendo published title got the shiny treatment like Mega Man 6 for instance and Kirby's Adventure while earlier titles were normal.
